RE. Flying saucers. Yours are obviously flying. I was thinking more of ones that have landed. Also, good as yours are, there's other designs of UFO (like the Gerry Anderson ones and the close encounters craft for example).

MARTIAN TRIPODS of DOOOOOM!
Results so far... Mars 50,000 - Earth 0...
The basic WotW Fighting Machine is mostly now finished. A few glitches still need hitting with bricks... One good thing about a Martian Invasion is all the debris they leave lying about; just look at all those big bricks I can gather up and hit things with!
You'll get the Placeable version, I can guarantee that, but the Creature version is still leaning toward being clinically rubbish in the general area of the completely new animations I'm poking with a sharp stick from a safe distance. It just about walks. Sort of. But it looks heinously uncoordinated. The conjure node for spell effects, etc, is positioned correctly now so that it fires nasty things from the Heat Ray Generator impressively. The actual "muzzle" of the Heat Ray glows but I removed the Emitter I placed there because it looked like a rubbish Nuclear Satsuma...
And here's the Heat Ray Generator, from a near Martian perspective more than a hundred feet in the air...
However, should anyone survive the Heat Ray long enough to run up and kick the Tripod in the foot - the only part they'll be able to reach - the whole Machine freezes and then jumps up and down on the spot with ludicrous velocity, which puzzles me as I didn't think I'd actually given it any melee key frames at all yet let alone instructed it to leap about like a depraved marsupial... But then I'm useless at new animations. (The Tentacles remain danglymesh in the Placeable version anyway, so they waft about a bit in high winds to give some fractional semblance of life).
And speaking of the Tripods' tri-lobed feet (for better balance on uneven ground, I thought they'd need something variable) here's one up close... Yes, these Martian War Machines are BIG.

Naturally, as always, I suddenly find I've got much less time this month than I thought I'd have. With blistering optimism, I started the Martian Cylinder as a Tile Group addition to the Rural, featuring a 5x4 sunken crater pit into which you can descend, with the Cylinder half buried in it and lots of spoil heaps by which to climb in and out. I don't think I'm going to have time to complete that this month - rrrrrgghh - though I may do a hasty Placeable Cylinder stuck in a pile of mud or something...
I have motly finished crawlers and spiders from evolution mobile game.

Just a little question, Transgenants are dead earth creatures reanimated and hideously mutated with alien spores does they count?

Storyline in the aftershock gets really hilarius in second half of the game with the Church of universal love and something best called giant horny space walnuts.
It really seems like the writers were on drugs.

These UFOs are better, lumpier, more differenter like, that the already available rubbish PHoD Flying Saucer things... They look more like cabbages encased in metal... or turnips... some kind of rubbery vegetable anyway...
Besides, they only took thirty minutes to make. And probably they look it...

Loverly and I did get the (blatantly obvious) reference to Bela Lugosi's last film appearance (he died early on in filming so they had some guy walking about, covering his face with his becloaked arm instead. Just one of the reasons it was voted the worst film ever made). I also spotted the greenies in the background.

On a related note, the Vampira character (according to Wikipedia) inspired the look of Maleficent in Disney's Sleeping Beauty as well as Elvira. Malia herself admitted that she based Vampira on the Morticia Addams of the Addams Family comic in the New Yorker.

I do not know if you can do it or if there's something like this already, it would be nice an animated box sky with shooting stars.
Sectoids are gray guys at the upper pic, they are cowardly weak psionics and slave race (gonna do some with collars) to multiple spacefaring civillizations from x-com (new and old, might do aquatic variation). Next are Martians Green guys with antenas at the bottom pic, they are race of plant like humanoids incapable of speech, instead communicating in electromagnetic fields, they are also experts in robotics and were in past dominated by Myctoids (giant psionic horny space wanuts from Ufo series). After them are Reticulants, they look like much bigger Sectoids but larger with smaller head, They are experts of biotechnology and psionics, they are highly collectivist and mostly peaceful. First of them is rebel a fraction that was dominated by Myctoids and invaded earth, they both use same armors (they soulds be projecting some kind of energy field). Lasty we have common green alien. Also i am editing reticulans to make females who are sacred in reticulan society.

This model don't includes weapons, however I'm making some of their more iconic stuff by myself. Now PHOD Xenomorphs have something to fear....
This gnome was working on a desert placeable crater, but RL knocked to the door and things turned sour... Now he knows he won't make it in time for July CCC. :-( But, work will resume after his return, and a crater you shall get... later August probably.

It may well be a bit late in the day but I have come across a series of 5 tutorials on deviantArt about making planets using 3ds max. Not being an expert I don't know if the techniques described easily translate to gmax. Anyway, if you are even slightly interested you can find the tutorials here.

As the only thing I could have come up with for this month's challenge would have been a 'lost' poster and I have made them before (and I've been busy elsewhere...), I have decided against it. However, just in case someone else would like to make it, I made a mock-up in word. I then did a screen grab, trimmed it to size and saved it as a gif (to make it as small as possible) image.
BTW, the "----------------------" separates the front from the back.

I had a small accident and hurt my wrist. I'm unable to finish the models. I'll send in what I have by Sunday: 4 skyboxes, an empty tileset and 17 of the largest planets & moons of our solar system. They are still missing animations though and the textures need a bit of polish.
I'll try to finish them in a couple of months or so.
