I'm setting up a worldstate for a QF DW Assassin run and was wondering which DA2 decisions make any kind of difference in DAI? It doesn't seem like many do, compared to DAO. For example, killing the dragon in the bone pit doesn't seem to make a lick of difference in DAI, AFAIK.

Any impact at all would count for me: Codex entry, dialogue, War Table mission, anything. I'm not looking for major changes, just any change at all.

My current state is Saracastic Hawke mage x Merrill, all the "bad" guys killed: Arishok, Anders, dragon, etc., sided with the mages. Anything I'm missing out on by having that set of choices?

As far as I remember, if you choose "recruited Sebastian" and "Anders alive & well" in Companions tile, there is an Operation in DA:I, and there is a banter between Varric and Cassandra that changes depending on result of that Operation.

Except for what you already wrote? Fate of your sibling, what happened with red lyrium idol, who you sided with in Legacy DLC. That's what I remember now.

Whether Hawke approved of Anders' destruction of the Chantry does make a difference to how Hawke speaks of him to the Inquisitor.

Hawke's love interest (if any) also counts, in the form of a few lousy lines of dialogue.

But yes, the majority of the choices are completely meaningless.

Varric's approval of your choice concerning mages/templars depends on what side Hawke picked in DA2.

Bianca's dialogue with Varric differs if you let him keep vs have Sandal destroy the lyrium shard. Also some of his dialogue about red lyrium.

Yup. His approval in DAI is very Hawke centric.

If Hawke lives, he is all for allying with the Grey Wardens. If Hawke dies, he's like "**** these guys, my friend is DEAD!" >>>>> Greatly disapproves if you ally with them.

Oh. That makes sense. I thought you meant whether or not Hawke Allied with Mages or Templars in DA2 not whether Hawke lived or died and Gray Wardens. Or do you mean both?

Does rivaling Varric in DA2 reverse it?

Varric's approval or disapproval (regarding the mages and templars) is dependent on who Hawke sided with at the end of Dragon Age II; I don't believe being his rival reverses it (I've never read anything that indicated that).

No. Actually, his rivalry changes nothing. At least I didn't notice any changes while I played it.
