I wanted to give myself plenty of time before Andromeda's release to re-familiarize myself with the universe without going overboard.  Plus, it gives me a chance to do the few pieces of DLC I never got around to on my original playthroughs.

I haven't touched ME since I completed Citadel three years ago.  Now getting back into it I'm surprised (again) at just how great it is.  ME2 will always be special for me because it was my introduction to the series, but ME also excels in so many ways.  I literally just binge-played ME for the last ten hours.  No other game except Civ V can keep me enthralled for that long!

Have any of you gone back to restart the series in anticipation of Andromeda after a long hiatus?  Is it as great as you remember?  Better?  Worse?

Most definitely....but it's kind of a hollow victory seeing my Shep take a breath at the end knowing I probably won't even get a codex entry from MEA about my exploits in the milky way :)

I never really stopped -- every four months or so, either me or my husband seem to go "I want to play Mass Effect, and I have some different ideas this time!" or "I want to redo one of my favorite playthroughs because it's fun!" and the other one chimes in or watches. And once you start, might as well do all three!

Nope. ME3 left such a bad taste in my mouth that I can't even go back to MEs 1 and 2. Andromeda would have to be a ridiculously great title to make me want to go back and replay the series, and even then I'd likely skip the third game in its entirety.

Out of nostalgia I dabbled playing some ME3 on insanity recently but kind of stopped after Omega dlc... because that was mostly what I really wanted to play. ^_^  (And I didn't want to deal with those stupid quarian Admirals next.  <_<)

Been meaning to go back into ME1 for a long while to replay one of my (least favorite) characters because raisins, although I kind of want to start a new one instead. But I'm lazy. :D I'd rather run through it again with all my gear than start over. So I haven't started up a new go of the whole trilogy... yet.

The last time I played any ME was for N7 Day, and I've played other games since then. I thought my reflexes would be pathetic, but I was able to jump right back in without trouble. Still a lot of fun for me, even if I refuse to learn that charging isn't always wise. No amount of Cerberus turrets will ever make that clear.

Lol totally forgot about the cover system when I first fired ME back up... toe to toe with a tower of doom rocking endless ammo - fail :)

I would love to but I don't have a PS3 anymore and since they never released it for the 4 I just wallow in my old memory.

LOL yeah, pretty much. I'm smarter about it now, but being a reckless vanguard is just kind of my style. I don't spend time in cover unless I absolutely have to, instead charging around like a crazy person. The worst part for me is when I try to run around cover---only for Shep to take cover instead. Accidentally hiding behind something has literally killed me more times than being out in the open.  :wizard:

Yeah :( wish they would give us a "Ultimate Trilogy" version for latest platforms but I don't see that ever happening...

I got around that by buying ME and ME2 for PC during the Steam summer sale, and ME3 on Origin.  I still find it annoying that you can't buy ME3 on steam.

And WTF Bioware/EA?  No controller support for you PC versions?  That's a huge drop of the ball in my books!

Seeing as I don't have a Xbox One or PS4, there better be day 1 controller support for ME:A or I'm going to be pissed!!

considering the multidisc issue has been resolved you think they would be on there.

Surprised me the first time lol. I had beat the game a few times on console before I picked up the PC version....tried Pinnacle to make a controller happen...its like playing a completely different game, couldn't get my fingers to work right lol.  so now the PC versions are there for posterity's sake and I have my xbox360 backed up...a couple of times lol

yup. After release of ME3 I played the trilogy 3 or 4 times, but since I've decided to refresh my playthroughs in january I just lost myself in it, and completed 4 playthroughs since then. :)

I recently replayed Mass Effect 3 with a default import but the official trilogy marathon replay involving full side mission completion and ultimate deep immersion and plenty of snacks won't properly commence until February 2017.

Well, I'm kind of in the middle of a new Trilogy playthrough right now. I've been taking it reeeally slow though, as I started it in Febuary and have only just got to ME2 a few days ago.

And thanks to some minor PC problems, I've decided to put it off for now.

Updated my computer and started ME3 again. Gotta say ALOT mod for textures makes a huge difference, love it! I replayed other ME games earlier this spring. Also replaying DAI and DAO. I really have hard time deciding what to play...

No, and I'm not going to buy the game until post release hype has died and user reviews (not game journalists)  have confirmed the game as a worthy successor.

At that time,  should it occur,  I will buy and have the most fantastic splurgefest through 4 games.

Isn't that the best? It's Eid where I'm at and my husband is off from work. We're playing Fallout 4 together, again, and having a blast. Might have to put in the ME trilogy for a playthrough!

If I play Mass Effect these days it will only be a Mass Effect 1 playthrough anyway so no.

Yeah, I've restarted my canon Shepard a while ago and I'm now at the beginning of ME2. The ending of ME3 doesn't spoil the fun of the rest of the trilogy for me.

Too many great games I'm not allowed to discuss on here to keep me busy.
