I'm surprised the hate is still so vehement.  Yes, the ending was extremely disappointing, but why let that ruin three incredible game experiences?

Plus, it'd be doing a disservice to Andromeda to go in with that attitude.

I just ignore the ending,  kill the game and turn off my PC.  It's thus a fantastic 3rd person shooter with some RPG elements.  The auto dialog irked me the first time I played it but, I celebrated my expectations,  and I enjoy the game.

It's issues with the last 2 DA games combined with the ME3 ending that leaves me concerned.

It was said originally that Ashley wasn't racist and that her ME1 dialogue was being taken out of context by fans, but then in 2 and 3 they just decided to go ahead and push her towards the racist category. Then there was the making her a Miranda clone when she was far more formal about it. It was just dumb.

So much of it was just outright dumb.

I'm not sure where this is coming from, because Ashley's dialogue regarding aliens tapers off at the end of ME1 (provided she survives Virmire), and it's all pretty much Cerberus this and that in 2 and 3.

Funnily though, some characters get away with some really harsh remarks regarding other species. One of which is our beloved Mordin. Dude straight up scoffs at the very idea of a krogan scientist. What an arrogant frog's ass lol. Thinking back on this dialogue, I always wished that there was a way to call him out on that.

Because the journey is pointless if it leads to such a horrifically garbage ending. And as far as Andromeda goes, its a new game in a tainted franchise, so its impossible to not go in with that attitude unless I was someone who actually liked ME3 or could forgive Bioware for the nonsense regarding it.

Besides, I still can't get past Manveer Heir's little White Tears mug thing. For a company trying to portray itself as progressive and forward thinking, to have that kind of hypocrisy among their employees leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Makes me not want to put money in a wallet that buys things like that.

First, the other aliens mentioned aren't races, they are species.

If Ashley or whomever discriminates against another species, it cannot by definition be racism.

Racism is merely a currently popular pejorative term that is thrown around when it should accurately be called something else.

Welp

Nah, I've not touched that since 2013. It would feel like going back to an abusive relationship. The only reason I'm even interested in ME:A is because it has nothing to do with the original trilogy.

Started currently with mass effect 1. Also using mods heavily to have more replay value...

Two more playthroughs at least on PC with a male and female like I did when I had an Xbox 360.

I trying to view ME:A as a completely different franchise. Replaying the old games would not help.

Plus I never even finished ME3 in the first place and have no desire of ever doing so.

No need to since it doesn't have a impact on ME :A. Already played all 3 of them a awhile ago.

I had played ME1 again when it was announced as backward compatible on the XOne. But lost steam to play any further. And I doubt I'll ever play on PC. I hate when console ports try to go "full PC" and don''t even offer gamepad configs. Darks Souls did that too.

ME1 has excellent modded controller support, right down to the interface buttons. I've been using it on my PC playthrough. So far it seems pretty seamless. You can find it on the nexus.

I believe it's been implemented for ME2 and ME3, but I haven't gotten to them yet.

If you made it to the last ten minutes - you're probably good just stopping there.

that's funny. I just spoiled it all for myself on YouTube. I really actually want to play the citadel dlc instead of watching it.

Not yet, I have other games to play but let's say MEA comes during March 2017, then I will replay the trilogy during January/february :)

I started with a new Spacer/Sole Survivor/Sentinel Paragon FemShep a couple months ago and have been working my way through the trilogy and just picked up Garrus and Victus in ME3 this morning. It didn't really have much to do with Andromeda's impending release. ME is still my favorite game series despite its flaws, I hadn't played it in about a year, and I expect I'll be delving into Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and No Man's Sky before too long, so it seemed like the right time.

I've been mixing up the mission sequence in ways I previously hadn't for this run. For example, I usually do all the post-Cerberus coup sidequests before going to meet the quarians, so this time I'll probably do it the other way around - I've never taken Tali on the side missions for Samara, Grunt, and Jacob before.

I haven't played the Mass Effect games since the third one came out in 2012. It seems pointless to start a new playthrough knowing how it ends. It makes me sad, because I honestly loved ME1 and ME2, but because of ME3, I just can't bring myself to go through all that again. I get too emotionally invested in my characters. It's not that I mind them dying, I just mind them dying when I try to do everything to prevent them from dying and the game ignores all my efforts.

Me3 ruined the replayability of the trilogy for me. I have replayed it once with MEHEM but I didn't enjoy it much. Still, Mass Effect is my favorite gaming IP. That's why I lurk around here I guess. I want meA to be good but my expectations are low for various reasons. Mac in charge, DAI fetch quests, non-cinematic conversations and multi-player team Montreal making the game are a few. I would love to be surprised. :)

Yes, I just finished my first full series playthrough a few weeks ago with ME3 (played on PS3 so I didn't have access to ME1 until after ME3).

It's great, and encouraging that ME1 doesn't change much about ME3, because I don't particularly ever want to play it again.

ME2/3 though I will probably replay every few years.

Currently playing ME again. Want to relive the story, really looking forward to ME2 and ME3. I can never get my FemShep to look right in ME with the sliders but she is perfect in ME2 and ME3. Think I will take a few renegade options that I haven't tried before this time, it will be fun!
