The Inquisition Character Creator is great. Playing Inquisition and then playing Origins again, I noticed the stark differences in the Character Creators. Inquisition Character Creator has sooo many more options available. More noses, more face shapes, more eyes, more ear positions, being able to change lip shapes (and DA2 was even more limited with lips than Origins was - or, at least, if felt like it), more skin tones, more eyebrows, more hair colours, being able to change the colour of your eye lashes and lotsa other stuff. And the PC can have scars. And freckles. Very cool. In Inquisition, I did, however, miss being able to change the colour of the PCs eyebrows. Not being about to change the colour of the PCs eyebrows separately from their hair didn't bother me so much with the darker hairstyles, but it did annoy me a tad when choosing blonde as a hair colour.
I understand that creating hairstyles is a real pain in the neck, especially when moving to a new engine. There were a few hairstyles I rather liked in Origins, although some of them were a bit weird. I did think it was great that DA2 had the Origins hairstyles AND new ones for DA2. I do remember being frustrated with the colour range of hair in DA2. It was due to the change in colour palette, I think. There being colours I remembered liking in Origins that I couldn't really replicate in DA2 given that the colour palette was a tad brighter. I actually I kinda think my level of liking the hairstyles in Inquisition was similar to my first playthrough of Origins. It was a bit like "I like that one, that one, and that one. These couple not so much, and that one there is really weird." And then later on, some of them grow on you, like a fungus.
What I think is really great is that the hairstyles are the same for both male and female characters. I remember really liking the hairstyle Zevran and King Cailan, among others, wear but being a bit disappointed my female Warden couldn't have that hairstyle, too. That being said, I do miss a fair few of the hairstyles from Origins. And DA2 had a couple of really cool ones, too.
I did miss having more braids options in Inquisition. There seemed to be heaps of braids in Origins, the new hairstyles in DA2 didn't have a lot of braids available either, and only a small amount in Inquisition. I was way happy the were braid options in the Dwarven beards in Inquisition. I really like braids, I think they're great and they look cool. Also, with a fair amount of hairstyles with braids available in Origins (and DA2), braids feel "Dragon Age-ish" to me.
