They would be suicidal not to bring some form of sustenance. They have no guarantee they would ever find a habitable world with edible food.
That being said - Reapers don't hunt pyjaks, varen and space cows so they would - after sapience is wiped out of the Milky Way flourish.
So... unless it's as food - then no, there's no reason for it to come along.
It would be easier - in the end - to have seed banks.

Probably not actual animals, but I can easily see them bringing genetic material for those creatures so that once we arrive in Andromeda and colonize, we can grow them and populate the colonies with them so that the colonists have a source of food.

There's got to be food for us obviously. We are not leaving for the sake of continuing life if Reapers win. That's what I believe. I don't care either way to be honest. They would be suicidal not to bring some form of sustenance. They have no guarantee they would ever find a habitable world with edible food.

I wouldn't mind seeing some sort of genetic library, like the animal samples in Titan A.E..
Temptest A.E.!!! I loved Titan A.E., and I could see them having DNA of Milky Way animals. Although, I think like rats and ships of real life, Pyjaks would sneak onboard if they saw food and what not on a ship.

This makes sense but what would they eat between waking up and making the animals and plants fully formed?

Well, if they have the ability to make cloned animal they may survive on rations. ![]()
And there is always the almighty omnitool.
There have to be an app that make food. ![]()

The ships would almost certainly have food stores that would last the crews for a while.
Plus it wouldn't take long to make the animals. After all in Mass Effect we are able to grow a fully-grown krogan in a week.

Livestock require a tremendous amount of agriculture. It isn't viable and they've already established that with the Qurians become "vegans" out of necessity. Granted, Mac "Ending Killer" Walters doesn't seem to care much about established facts, plot coherency or any common sense staple of literature so anything is possible.
It's possible that fertilized embryos are brought along with artificial incubators to be used once a viable colony has been established.

IDK that eating animals is appropriate.. what does it matter the level of sentience of a being to be fit to call food.

Shut up man. We've been eating animals for 100,000 years and it ain't stopping cause some vegans thinks it's immoral. Best diet, plants and meat. What about the plants? Aren't they alive?IDK that eating animals is appropriate.. what does it matter the level of sentience of a being to be fit to call food.

relax mern, I was just joking how everything end up as "equality" and "equal rights". Is it really that far off that people will abandon killing living things for food?

I eat meat but I have a feeling it will probably not be common in the future. They'll probably be able to grow steaks in the lab and I'd prefer to eat that over knowing my dinner came from some poor space cow.

Maybe. I'm religious but I'm way more open minded than most Catholics. There's a lot of crazy stuff involved with religion.
#The animals went in two by two
Hoorah! Hoorah!
The animals went in two by two
Hoorah! Hoorah!
The animals went in two by two
The elephant and the kangaroo
And they all went into the ark
For to get out of the rain#
Thanks for reminding me about having to sing those awful Christian songs every morning at school assembly.
Talk about indoctrination.

You can't but a scientist probably could. They can already grow human organs on the backs of mice. I bet you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Don't care. The real thing is the best. Always. Salarian liver on the other hand.......tasty. I hope they can pull that off.You can't but a scientist probably could. They can already grow human organs on the backs of mice. I bet you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Yeah.........we are talking about food here. Those Neanderthals had to fight and die to get a good mammoth steak. Have some respect for that history. They better let me take my space hamster.

Can we at least agree that the music is terrible. Also this wasn't a Christian school, just a normal state school. There is no separation of church and state in the UK. I don't know if they still have hymn practice in most schools. This was like 20 years ago.
