Gotta give props to BioWare on this one. (Side mission spoilers)

The side mission where you explore the Normandy crash site was to say the least incredible in my opinion.  Only because it's the most haunting mission I think I've ever seen in a game.  The flashbacks and the music make for one hell of an atmosphere.  Seeing all that wreckage while remembering myself walking through those very areas in the first game...it actually gave me chills as I sat there in front of the TV.  Sounds nerdy reacting to a game like that, but man, it was something else.

On the surface it seems like a pretty unremarkable mission.  No enemies, no nothing.  Just you and a silent planet strewn with the wreckage of your old ship.  After a couple of minutes walking around I thought "What the hell? I figured this would be a little more memorable".  Once the flashbacks started hitting, that's when the "whoa" factor kicked in.  Finding those dog tags was a nice icing on the cake, especially when you find you old helmet.  Just seeing the ship in that state was chilling.

I think if I ever go back to play the first game again, it'll be haunting walking through the Normandy.  At least for a little while.  Props to BioWare on this one.

I agree 100%, this was an awesome mission, I hope they have more of these in the future, I would love to visit some of the worlds we went to before, like Ilos, or virmire, pay repects to where Kaden died, etc.

I got chills to, sounds dorky and girly, but I did, it was fun. And now I have Shepard's helmet sitting on my desk, um the one that he was wearing when the ship went down.

Yeah, I agree with this as well. Thankfully, this was first day DLC and we didn't have to wait a while for something this small yet so amazing to be brought to us. When I first saw Pressly die on the Normandy, it wasn't as emotional as when I witnessed the flashbacks as well as the datalogs that he had, they really made it feel like it was hard to lose him like when Kaiden or Ash died on Virmire.

This truly meets the games idea of being the second "dark" story of the trilogy, it helped spice up this game. I hope more darkening moments come out as well, and I hope soon.
