Picked this up recently on PS4 for $5. Heard it is massive and well worth that price. I played Origins years ago and loved it, but never played DAII. What am I about to get myself into? Any beginners tips?

Gameplay is completely different. Story has a new protagonist and is set 10 years after the events of the first game. The decisions you made in Origins may have consequences in Inquisition, as long as you make your World State in the Dragon Age Keep website and export it to DAI.
Devs also recommend you get out of the Hinterlands as soon as you can.

One word massive and some areas like the Hinterlands you will return to do other quests.
My advice not rush into areas when your not prepared. No need to have your head handed to you on a silver platter-even on causal or easy you can be outgunned if your weak. I play all DA games on causal or easy since I have limited use of my right hand..

It's a great game, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Hmm, what can I tell you...
-Take your time with it. There is so much to see!
-Talk to your companions frequently as you progress through the story. I just started created a new character and I've already had a couple conversations/heard some dialogue I somehow missed the first time around. For example, in the beginning, during Forward Camp with your new companions. Solas commented on my character being a Dalish elf when I ran off the path and did a little exploring c;
