I got the CE edition and the game runs perfectly until the point whereby i try to change any weapons and the game crashes. It only happens after i installed the DLCs.
Any fixes for this problem? It's getting annoying because i can't change my weapons setup for any character.

Bump - I have the same issue after installing the DLC. I tried a clean install, but the minute I installed the 2 character & overlord DLCs, the crashes were back.
I am on Win 7 64 bit Pro and everything else works fine.

Please respond!!! If I go anywhere near the weapons locker, my game locks and crashes. This is making ME2 pretty unplayable as I use the weapons and characters from the DLC. This is because the only way I have found to get around the issue is uninstall all of the DLCs, and I own all but the firepower pack.

Bump....because the game is now randomly crashing on loads if I manage to get a weapon from a DLC auto-equipped.

Is there any solution to this?!? I can't play ME2 right now, and that is what is stopping me from buying anymore DLCs until I can find a solution.

Hey all, I just followed this link from another topic: http://support.ea.com/
I then waded through lvl1 tech support and have had my issue escalated to "a more senor tech." For everybody else with this issue, I would also open a ticket with EA.

I had the same issue on an Athlon 64 x2 when running on one core. I did that because it didn't hurt performance much and my fan was much more quiet that way. When I went back to both cores everything worked fine again.

I checked, and ME2 is set to run on both cores...and it still crashes at the weapon loadout screen with the DLC installed.

Ok - it I install the DLCs in safe mode (by hitting F8 during boot), I don't get the crash.

Ya. I'm kind of having the same problem. I can change all weapons just fine except assault rifles. I have 2 A.rifles at the moment and I play soldier. It does let me change them sometimes, though rarely... just not always more than once in one go or for more than one team member. I do have some DLC installed. Running Win 7 x64. I've tried installing the DLC in safe mode after deleting it. Checked that it's using all cores. A few diffrent levels of graphic. I have the latest drivers. Fresh install of ME2. Not sure what to do other then never change my main gun again lol.
Update: First time this has happened but I just had a crash when switching out party members without returning to the ship.

Yep same problem for me. I only have the DLC that comes with the collectors edition though (including the collectors armour and gun) and it crashes every time I attempt to change something in the weapons locker. Running windows 7 64, core i7 920 and gtx 460. Went through the tech support and the best they could give me was to do a manual uninstall (including all save files) and reinstall. I don't want to loose my progress so far. Really annoyed. Would love to hear from a game rep about what's going on.

Finally got an answer back from EA and all they said (after getting me to uninstall and reinstall the game) was "sorry, this game is not supported on your platform (windows 7 64bit). I am so pissed at the moment. Anyone found any sort of work around at all? other than not changing my gun??

Have been having the same problem for some time... very frustrating. Looked at a few other forums which mentioned problems starting after installation of DLC, specifically the Arc Projector. Found the Arc Projector folder (Mass Effect 2 - BioGame - DLC - DLC_CER_Arc) in the DLC directory and deleted it. Worked for me ! ! ! Can now change weapons again ! No crashes !
I know that some people were finding that a couple of other DLC files were causing problems as well (e.g. Incisor Sniper Rifle) so it may be an idea to test this by just moving the DLC folders out of the DLC directory one at a time...

Thanks Langley167, I'm glad that sorted the problem for you. I'm afraid though that it doesn't for me. I have tried removing all of my DLC except what I need to be able to resume a game and it still dies. Thanks for posting though.

Downloaded some additional DLC today (3x mission packs and the Firepower Pack) and as soon as I went to the weapons loadout screen the game crashed to the desktop as before... This is definitely to do with the addon weapons and armour because as soon as I removed the Firepower Pack (DLC_MCR_01) from the Mass Effect 2 - BioGame - DLC directory I could go into the weapons loadout screen and change weapons without any problems. Obviously I can't use the new ones, but better to be able to play the game...
The DLC folders that I've currently got installed are : DLC_EXP_Part01, DLC_HEN_MT, DLC_HEN_VT, DLC_PRE_Cerberus, DLC_UNC_Hammer01, DLC_UNC_Moment01 and DLC_UNC_Pack01. I have had to remove DLC_CER_Arc and DLC_MCR_01 to get the game working properly again.

Thanks for that. Why can't these people get their **** sorted. It's clearly an issue, I've read about it in heaps of places, but the Dev's don't seem interested in getting it fixed. So frustrating.
