Ar, I know. It would be great if they could be more creative in that regard, and at least not make our protag come across as a right silly dunce.

They could at least make them know what a VI is. :P

The first ME was written with ignorance in mind more than the others.

Assuming we still have the same classes, I'll probably go with Engineer, Infiltrator, or maybe Sentinel, but I don't know. My canon Shepard was a biotic so I don't know if I want Ryder to be a biotic as well. So maybe a tech Ryder? I'm hoping it's better implemented in this game than it was in the trilogy and Ryder actually knows techy stuff outside of combat.

This will also depend on crew as well. The reason my canon Shepard (Sara) is a Vanguard is because that style of play works well with Garrus whom I took everywhere with me. Than a line in ME3 from Joker.

Oh definitely. There was a lot of stuff Shep didn't know, but should've known, in ME1. I did so much face palming in that game.

And Engineer Shep was always gonna be outclassed by Tali. That made me insecure. But that's a whole different story.

I think that was kind of cool though. Shep was supposed to be a generalist (and the best leader), I think. But he/she had specialists who were better or equals. Like Tali and engineering. Jack was supposed to be the most powerful human biotic, and Garrus was supposed to be close or as good a shot.

Infiltrator, despite it not matching my real-life skillset of a bit more hulking, hard-to-hit ammunition-spewing rifleman.

And no, I'm not kidding, I seem to have some sort of in-born talent of dodging stuff. The "rifleman" bit is also debatable, and I'm definitely nowhere past being an FNG, either.

Vanguard, now and always! (Well, 'cept when I try other classes, but still mostly always!)

I love this gif so much! Vanguard master race!

Depending on how they do them my preference would be Vanguard or Sentinel or Soldier in that order.

I´m one =p

Still, dont like the class too much. I LOVE go to town with Tali and Legion, but they are squadmate, it´s their job to be a suporter char, not mine =p

Adept sounds tempting right now.

We'll see when the game drops.  I'm sure they made upgrades to all the classes.

Probably either adept or engineer, I liked being able to go through the trilogy and barely firing a shot, just throwing powers all over the place.

Agreed, I don't want a repeat of the Dalish Inquisitor saying " who's Mythal?" like in DA:I.

Assuming the classes stay pretty much the same, I'd probably start as either an infiltrator or an engineer

Hm...

I still hope they are dropping the classes (probably won't, but I can still dream, can't I?)...would allow for more individual playstyles (and make it a better RPG, too IMHO)

If they don't?

I'll play an Adept as always (I think soldiers are boring, tech-classes aren't all that effective (don't have that much direct damage...overload and hacking is nice, but that's what I've got Tali for ;) ) and charging in close isn't my style...nor is the infiltrator's short-time-cloak (if it allowed you to become invisible more or less forever - like Kasumi during her loyalty mission! - that class might be more my cup of tea!))...biotics are interesting (I'd love it if they gave us some more lore/insight into biotics training and I'd love non-combat biotic use!)

greets LAX

ps: Nice, another strike - can't criticise moderators now, can you? - Damned, the BSN is North-Korea -.-

Vanguard, as always. But really hope they get rid of Nova so Vanguard can be great again.

^Don't listen to that guy, BioWare. He's been hitting the red sand!

I don't NEED nova, but I have a deep seated, visceral need to rely only on my biotic fists of justice, nova being an expression of it. My proudest Mass Effect moment remains that time that I punched a harvester to death.

Mass Effect 3 vanguard is the most I've ever felt like I was playing a super-hero in a game.

Vanguard, as always. But really hope they get rid of Nova and replace it with an even more powerful ability like flare so the Vanguard can be unstoppable.

Like this. :)

Vanguard is already unstoppable with Nova. I want the class to be balanced again. Unstoppable is an unwanted characteristic with a class that claims to be high RISK and high reward. There is no risk with Nova, nor would it be one with flare. ME2 Vanguard was perfect.

Well, it's still a shooter, isn't it... and it started off as Bioware's answer to Halo on the 360. Just a bit more RPGish.
