Why so little faith in Mass Effect Andromeda?

Three main factors:

1. ME 3's ending.

2. Inquisition being lukewarm on a variety of fronts, especially compared to its peers.

3. Moving to a new Galaxy rather than dealing with the problem that was ME3's ending, i.e. feels like a massive cop out.

There are other reasons as well among certain groups (namely the PC community feeling Bioware don't take us seriously after their lies pre-release for inquisition) but those are the main three and have all lead to a general scepticism and lack of faith in Bioware as a developer. If they release another lukewarm, or even a poor game I think they're done for as a developer.

I agree with you on 1 and 2.

As to 3... they had no choice, imo

That had a choice.

Back when ME3 was being developed.

Yes they did.

And chose poorly, imo.

Then, they bought a new engine, made a generally underwhelming DAI, and shafted PC users doing it.

No wonder they're closing their forums.

Probably gets tiresome having mistakes highlighted, instead of their desired "buzz" for everything Bioware.

If you think PC users got shafted, you should see what happened to lastgen users...

Yes. I know about that sell out.

It has to be their worst abuse.

Oh please, they don't even want us to have a forum to discuss the game. This is beyond "little faith".

In my eyes, every Mass Effect game has been amazing.

Yeah, the ME3 ending was a little disappointing, but that just goes to show that the only problem Bioware had with their games was an ending. An ending is very small compared to the rest of a game.

Nah, they just take their already loyal customers for pretty much granted and try to "aim for a new and hip audience that will expand their market, if approached in modern ways, within the up-and-coming popular social media sites that can generate a lot of positive buzz and provide info-tainment to the ever-growing consumer base".

Or whatever similar soulless gospel the marketing folk are pushing these days.

Because Andromeda has nothing to do with the original trilogy, the cast that we grew to love has gone, the story that drew us in has ended. We're getting something totally new, something that we know nothing about.

We know it's going to be DA:I in SPACE!

ME3 felt like they wanted to torch the franchise and run, this feels like they want to torch the company and run.
