Was thinking of doing another run with the engineer i guess. Not sure i ll try NG+ or just reimport one of my prefered ME2 character.

What are the pros and cons of NG+ ?

moreover i m not sure anymore if i can switch class for a ng+ or with a me2 import ? I would hack it though if needed.

Pros:

  • You start with all the weapons, mods, armor, fish, and ship models (and so on) that you bought, upgraded, or found previously.

  • You start at the same level you finished at in the previous game.

  • You start with the same amount of credits you finished with in the previous game.

  • Your persuasion meter (paragon/renegade) starts at the same level you finished in the previous game. NOTE: not sure if this becomes unchangeable or if it can still change as you make new choices. I think it is unchangeable, but I have not properly tested it.

  • You can now upgrade weapons to X. When picking up a weapon on a mission that you already have, it will automatically be upgraded by three levels (for example, from I --> III, or from V -> VIII, or from VII --> X). This only applies to your first NG+ with the same character, so you cannot go from V --> VIII in the first NG+ and then from VIII --> X in the second NG+; you will be stuck at VIII.

  • The power reset terminal on the Normandy resets to 0 credits for resetting your powers (good if you reset your powers a lot on the previous playthrough).

Cons:

  • You must play with the same class your were in the previous playthrough. For PC, you may be able to change this by editing your game save.

  • Upgrading all weapons from V to X can be very expensive (and/or time consuming if you farm credits in Armax Arena) unless you planned your previous playthrough accordingly). There is also a bug that prevents you from upgrading the Predator past VII on NG+ unless you edit your game save; console users are kind of screwed here.

  • You start with all your points allocated as they were in the previous playthrough, except your bonus power. This is only a con if you wanted to change your power setup. You must wait until you are back on the Normandy before you can reset your powers.

That's all I can think of on the top of my head.

Thx a lot redcaesar
As i dont care about weapon levels, i might as well import a ME2 save again.

As for enemies, are they, like in me2 levelled up to match your own level ? That was making ME2 NG+ almost impossible at the start (i think of the archangel rescue mission and closing the paths under him. Quite impossible without your heavy weapon on ng+ IIRC)

NG+ in ME3 is easier than NG+ in ME2.

First, power combos are possible in ME3 and deal more damage than weapons, so weapon upgrades are less important. Also there are no sudden jumps in weapon capability such as you get with the armor piercing upgrades with pistols and sniper rilfes, or the anti-shield multipliers with SMGs and shotguns in ME2.

Second, the major power upgrades in ME2, in particular the +20% tech and biotic cool down upgrades, are not in ME3. Yes, there are some +5% upgrades you can get at Liara's terminal, but there is no huge jump in power DPS in ME3 like there was in ME2.

Third, ME3 is simply easier than ME2.

I would do an ME2 import, and then just set the NG+ state to 1 if you want to be able to upgrade the weapons all the way.

I just don't care for ME3 NG+, sort of like I didn't care for NG+ in ME1 after I had completed the game a few times.  Leveling the character is half of what makes the game interesting to me, and Shepard seems a bit too powerful with all end game gear.

I didn't play ME2 NG+ all that often either, but since it took away your research it wasn't really like starting with all end game gear since research was important.

Same here captn, same here, well my brain is not as functionnal, so i dont remember as much, but ng+ always felt less interesting than a fresh start, and gives a small bad taste: edoing the same plot again with the same shep ?!? ;)
