Melee build is not very effective, but it s the most fun. Teleporting through a wall to behead mooks never gets old.
That would mean shotgun for the omniblade, and mostly wraith to pack puch for a lightweight.
Then PD to stagger charge and melee + shotgun if needed (if u know its needed, use the hotgun first, then the melee)
I'm deciding to read this as: Wraith is a hotgun. Ooyeah, I like my hotgun.
Most notable difference, the lack of BS for plat. I found it to be very underwhelming there. Also shield power cells instead of a poweramp, for the simple reason that it is quite possible that you get a very open map, which can make a BC suicide. But you can also roll with cyclonics in both cases.

Interesting that you mention Shield Power Cells, as it's something I occasionally run on him. With Shield Power Cells, you can Biotic Slash after your PDs, and have your shields back to PD again afterwards. This allows you to use BC only to trigger Power Synergy to keep your damage bonus up, without letting up the power spam.
And as to Clyde wanting a middle ground, we all dream of meeting these Mythical PUGs who can actually play the game, but the fact of the matter is, most of them suck, and I'll take a PUG who uses a little boring cheese to stay alive and trying to contribute over dead weight any day.
I prefer to host so there shouldn't be a problem regarding this. I have a good connection so I usually host games.
I'm on Xbox, so I don't know if it can be an issue for that Slayer's tactic.
Most of the times I play PUGs because no one of my friends play ME3 anymore. I also want to make some solo runs, so I look for solid and effect builds/tactics that can handle most Gold situations
I'm going to go ahead and post a video showcasing how to use him, since builds don't really mean much by themselves.
This is still pretty much the gold standard in how to play the Slayer:
That's a great video: very useful and it's always enjoyable to slay some Cerberus hehe
Only one question, sorry if it's a bit off topic. Do you know if we can make share our videos when we make a new topic? I have finally got a capture device and I'd like to share some videos with the community to get some advice, share thoughts etc but I don't know what the community rules are about the matter.
For example there places like reddit where they say we can only post one of our videos each 10 links we share etc, etc.
Sorry if I went off topic but I'm back after a long break and I can't find an answer to that question. I thought since you make videos too, you may know something. I have some interesting videos I'd like to post here Thanks again

Uh? There's no rule for videos here, you can post as many as you'd like.
And by the way, tho I made ME3 vids too, a long time ago, that one's not mine.

The main difference would be how quickly pc can turn and look compared to xbox. We've got slow thumbsticks so we can't turn and look as fast as he was in the video so it's a little harder to be that aggressive.

Phase disruptor is a combat power and not a biotic one, that's why I'd use another gear. If you want to boost phase disruptor the only gear that works is mental focuser (anyway I recomend, as always, the batarian gantlet)
I always spec for knockdown on Phase Disruptor. I just like ragdoll physics...For me the slayer is about mobility. I can't remember the last time I used the stairs with that kit. Teleporting through enemy spawns as they look baffled and then popping out, as they search for you never gets old. By far my favorite kit.

Knockdown can only ragdoll 1 target, so while it's fun I agree, it's way suboptimal, especially when regular Phase Disruptor staggers very well. Also there's a bug (as with many games) where the ragdolled target may get up in a different place entirely and shoot you in the back.
P.S. Also, that video is obviously fake, because they player extracted

I just tried a solo Gold match and on Xbox it's quite difficult to be so aggressive with the Slayer. Not to mention for some reason, despite being host and having a quite fast connection, sometimes I didn't lock on target and so I was unable to charge.

I just tried a Gold match and you are completely right: it's harder to be that aggressive. Like I said above even though I was the host playing solo with a quite fast connection sometimes the biotic charge didn't lock on targets making impossible to restore shields. I was against Geth on Firebase Glacier so that proved be a little problematic.

Ok, that's great to hear I'm going to post some of my videos soon

Nothing to do with connection, probably just a floor tile in the way

Well at least the connection was not to blame lol
However whatever it was it really hindered my charging ability and, guess what, just when Geth Bombers deployed their bombs: typical "good luck" of course
I don't know if it is my imagination or a real thing, but when my vanguard refuses to charge my clip is usually empty and I can charge once I reload. It's like the game is trying to protect me from myself.
