so i didnt play ME1 but i just finished ME2 and blew up the base, lost 2 crew members etc. now what do i do? i have no missions and no assignements and was wondering what the options are from here.

You could visit all the places and see if there are people to talk to or get missions from. You could also scan all the planets for missions. There is a merchant on Illium who sells star charts. Maybe those charts unlock new destinations. You could try that as well.
