Just had a thought, as i normally do whilst visiting the can, that it would be MOST wonderful to find a long lost colony of Asari in the Andromeda Galaxy. A colony that is populated by the descendants of the Asari that traveled with one of those ADVENTUROUS Asari Matriarchs that left so many writings behind in ME1.

Nah no thanks another game were the Asari are the most developed ugh.

why would be they be the most advanced in Andromeda by default?

The Asari got their knowledge from the Protheans..which took time to decipher and develop....so let's say that the early Asari Pioneers lacked the knowledge that the Asari had by the onset of the Reaper Invasion.  Rather, their (the colony's) tech know-with-all would be considered "behind" by Ark's standards

If they've been there for ages why wouldn't  they be?

We'll find that colony, and one of the Asari will task us with finding their ancestor Matriarch Dilinaga's writings that are scattered all over Andromeda. We'll write about it and leave our writings to be found in place of Dilinaga's. The cycle of leaving things behind for others to find cannot be broken.

Yes. These asari have just been running around scantily clad on some remote jungle planet for ages waiting for the enlightened humans to come and bear the torch of technology.

Good talk this.

Hm could be possible, although i agree with some of the others, if they are the most powerful race again, its gonna feel too repetitive... but maybe if they seem the most powerful but then there is an even powerful race that we stumble on while doing a mission that completely catches us off guard that would be a good story twist

They're the most developed out of the MW species already. You just given them a huge advantage by having Asari already there. They probably be able to communicate with each easy by using their old languages like Latin for example. Just easier for them to integrate.

I'd love that - I'd also love it if the Asari and the other current cycle-races weren't the only ones who thought of running from the Reapers (would love to meet some of the races we've only heard of in Prothean archives and/or legends!)...I mean Andromeda is the nearest Galaxy so if any of the races dispached Arks, too they'd probably have gone there as well :)

I want a clean slate. No 'old' races to be rediscovered in Andromeda like Protheans or as you mentioned Asari.

I hope not. Our cycle isn't even really capable of intergalactic travel now, let alone hundreds or thousands of years prior.

That's the focus of the game. Going to Andromeda. I don't know about you but it looks like we are plenty capable.

What I mean is this sojourn to Andromeda is the first of its kind with state of the art technology. If the Asari were able to do it as long ago as the OP wants, there would be nothing really special about it. It'd be like if they revealed that the Normandy wasn't the first stealth ship, and instead Turians had that technology since the Krogan Rebellions.

Naw, m8. Arseari suck. The less o' them the better. Besides, this is supposed to be about new species, not rehashing the least interesting and most generic one from the old galaxy.
