Talk about impossiblity. Even though got the game working, have run into a major stumbling block with the door and security console bypasses and keep getting failures for each one that it is making my game UNFUN and no longer enjoyable. Game is fast becoming unplayable......
I do have a learning Disablity which makes it near impossbile to do these types of mini-games.....
Using the Security bypass mini game

Think of it as playing memory.

I give a nickname to each one of the shapes, and then it becomes a fairly simple (but fast) game of memory.
Tower is the one that looks like an antenna with some lines under it.
Dumbbell/Weight
C is the one that looks like the letter C but turned upwards
Candy is the one that looks like a piece of candy

decided to uninstall the game. Found the game to be unplayable due to the mini-game and unbabled to progress each through each mission.
Keep getting failures due to timer running out or getting failures due to not getting the right connections....
There is no autohacking like it was in ME1

While I'm fortunate I don't have the issue the OP does the mini games get incredibly tedious after a very short while even with the increased time upgrades, a lack of a form of bypass was incredibly short sighted if indeed there is no incredibly well hidden option or upgrade that everyone that's bought the game has overlooked.

Ticks me off also. Some of us arent so nimble finger.Or their mouse is on drugs.I had to send mine to rehab jumping around like it did.I dont mind losing out on the loot but because I have slow response with a mouse I will wind up not being able to advance. The one on Horizon bites. Not much time.

I know I'm running with barely minimal system specs and even though I'm super good with a mouse my cursor jumps all over (I suspect it's a frame-rate processing issue and unlike ME 1 there's no way for me to set my texture quality lower to increase my framerate... argh!) so even when I know where the dot is I can't hit the frigging thing. this is SUPER annoying. PLEASE give us a patch with an auto bypass option! I don't care if I'm spending more to use auto bypass than I get out of whatever I open! I suck at shooters. have some sympathy for the bad players! I'm playing for the story!

I tried out the PC version at a friend's over the weekend and found the bypass minigame to be really annoying, especially when the little symbols are all clustered. I'd either click the wrong one and lose the contents of the box, or I would pick one and the game would reset before I reached its partner to link up. Very strange. On the Xbox the cursor is sluggish, but I have had zero problems with the minigames, and I'm not a twitch gamer at all. In fact, the only reason I was playing on my buddy's computer was to try to figure out why he thought the minigames were hard, when I've found them mind-numbingly easy on the 360. On the plus side, scanning is a lot faster on the PC.

I agree, it totally sucks, I tried 15 times the first time it comes up and the game must let you try an infinite number of time BUT and it is a big but, I cannot get it to work ,
I think it has to do with what I am not pressing after I find two same symbols but I cannot figure out what and as I said I have spent a long time on this and reuse to go on further auntil this can be explained in a way I can understand : ie; not some cryptic hinted dialogue but rather in very eay steps.
So please will someone walk me thru this feature, I have the game guide but this is not enough, Help has always been far from helpful .
There should be an automatic bypass for techs or adept abilities and this is a game killer if you cannot get it.
Also if you do not want to post this help here on this forum could someone email me.
Guess I will try to do this again before I retire but matching two does not work and all the controls I got uses to in ME1 have changed, so getting used to that is my first priority
cheers

I don't suppose you guys forgot to get the upgrade that doubles the alloable time for the minigames...If you're in trouble i guess it would go some way towards helping. Predictive Display for hacking and i can't remember the name for bypassing.

It's actually not that difficult really. I didn't even need the upgrade for it. The trick is to do one symbol at a time. Don't try to memorize all the symbol's location unless you have photographic memory or you will certainly start getting confused. Instead, memorize one and search for the other same one. Keep doing this until you've solved all. As long as you're not dilly dallying looking for it, you should have more than enough time.

Well to be fair to the OP he did mention he has a learning Disability so maybe its just too difficult for him. One is a memory game and the other is Picking out a code and finding it in a list of other simular codes.
Maybe its just to hard for him.
Oh and the only games you can do infinite amount of times is the ones connected to the plot. The ones that can net you money or some info thats not important to the plot can only be done once, then its over.
Also to help with the memory game I suggest you also note the wiring of the code, each matching letter actually connects to its double on the board through the wiring. Its very small but you can see it. Most of them a very close to each other. usually 1 or 2 are pretty distant that wrap around the others.

Like Demesis said, look for the same, dont try to remember them all. Match one pair, look for another then. Also, upgrade your hacking tool, i think the upgrade was on Omega, that gives you double the amount of time to hack.

its sad it took me until my second play-through to figure out it was a matching game....i would just guess on where it would go..hahaha i felt like a moron when i figured out how to do it the right way

...You guys really have that much trouble with it? i figure if you can remember what letters spell a word you can figure out how to match symbols...

wow hats off to you for managing to beat the game that way. LOL. Must've been frustrating.

Just find one pair at a time and open them. Then find another pair. Don't attempt to memorize them all if it proves difficult, just open one pair at a time. You can get the upgrade for longer time and you shouldn't have to hurry that way.
It's a shame if it gets in the way of your gaming, but I hope you'll get through.

I find them somewhat fun and challenging. But after a while they are quite easy.

Haha personally, i find the hacking one slightly more difficult then this mini game.

Neither of the mini games are hard. After the training mission, only reason I'd fail one is because I forgot to kill all the enemies and the room and I'd get shot while hacking. For the symbols, I just say out the name of the shape for two or three of them depending on how they're clustered. Must be confusing for people to hear me repeat "Path, needle, top, C" to myself.
Edit: To the OP, sorry to hear you have a learning disability that interferes with your playing. That really sucks.

Mini games are nonsense in games like this imo. They should have stuck with the button press formula like in ME1. My brother really hates this new one, as do I.

So you're blaming the game design because you have impaired mental faculties?
It's unfortunate, but seriously, bioware loves it's puzzles, you oughta have seen this coming.
Although I would've liked an auto-hack omni-gel like the last game, but whatever.

The button press formula was just as boring and was nonsensical to boot. I suppose it was faster, though.
