We're talking about future here, I dont mean in Andromeda, or the game after that. Heck, maybe not even 10 years from now. But do you think it will be possible for Bioware to go back to Milky way galaxy, and continue from where ME3 ended?
Do you think ME will ever return to Milky Way?

Prequel doesn't really count, since we would still be trapped by the crucible, with a definitive end. I meant a game that continues on, after the crucible fires, set in MW.

Perhaps, most likely ten years from now, in a reboot.

I don't think so. Too much important consequences after ME3 endings and they will never pick a canon ending (and they better not!).
They really won't take the risk to return on the MW also I don't want to play a reboot of ME. I like the trilogy how it is.

More likely is that we'll go back in ME7 or so, if the franchise is still alive. By then the percentage of players who give a damn about the final trilogy world-state will be so small that Bio can just pick whatever seems most fun -- dictatorial insane Sheplyst, anyone? -- and run with that.

I think if things go well for Andromeda (meaning the game is well-received, gets good sales, and wins over some new fans), the likelihood of ever returning to TMW would drop immensely.
The only way I can see any sort of return to TMW would be if Andromeda isn't doing so well, and they feel they could milk more out of the IP that way.

If Andromeda performs poorly in sales and is sufficiently disliked by the critics (75 or lower on Metacritic), they're probably going to swallow their pride and finally toss Smuggy McSmuggington's work in the trash where it belongs. That's pretty much never going to happen, though. We already know BioWare fans would buy their products even if it was literally a piece of mierda crammed into a game box, and critics don't give a joder about how the integrity of a game's lore holds up. After all, these are the same critics that gave ME3 a rating of 93 on Metacritic without breathing so much as one word about the ending.

No reboots. They ruin good stuff. Like the new Ghostbusters. Maybe the orig tril with better graphics.Perhaps, most likely ten years from now, in a reboot.

Hopefully. It's fertile ground for any number of adventures/stories/games. Let the Reaper/Shepard saga remain the high-level narrative and start telling more personal tales that involve the gritty nature of the galaxy instead of world-eating threats.

No chance. The entire reason we're going to Andromeda is because those endings are unworkable.

Eventually perhaps it might but certainly not in the immediate future I wouldn't have thought. If they can come up with a clever way that gets them around the endings without canonizing one then they might go back but I think that'll require some smart thinking and plenty of time given the hole they dug themselves with doing it. For now at least by moving the setting to a different galaxy they can start afresh and at least keep the series going until they come up with such a plan I suppose

The only way I can see them going back to the milky way after the ME3 endings would be if they declared one canon, which I don't really see BioWare doing.
Any game that tries to actually clean up the mess that ME3 made of the Milky Way is going to be spending half the game dealing with it, which isn't really a game that I would be interested in.
I've always said it's important to clean the slate every once in a while if you're going to do save imports, otherwise the branching paths just get too complex for realistic game development restrictions like time and budget.

It's possible, but there are two main obstacles:
1) The endings imply three wildly different galaxies, and any direct sequel would need to be 3 separate games in 1 to reflect that, and even if they could do that, there would still be problems.
2) Some endings might make large parts of the galaxy a bit . . . alien to us if we return. For example, in an ending where the Geth helped the Quarians re-adapt to their planet within a generation or so, how much would the Quarians resemble the race we knew? The whole basis of their society was based on being ship-bound and having to protect themselves from sudden and deadly infection, but with those pillars gone, how would they change?

The only way to continue it is to make a canon ending. They should've kept it simple. On canon ending that is different depending on choices you make and one non canon ending were we fail. The only way I can see them going back to the milky way after the ME3 endings would be if they declared one canon, which I don't really see BioWare doing.

Answering this question depends on what happens in Andromeda, but even ignoring that, I find it unlikely at this point.

...how is that keeping it simple? They would have to make 2 completely different games, and one of them would have too many variables to develop around even if they were only making 1 game.

Well I don't see them making an ending canon.
So I don't really ever see them continuing it since the endings we did get made a mess of the whole thing.

Bioware should choose an ending and make it canon, period.
- In Fallout 2, it is established that F1's protagonist is a man (has a statue of him in the NCR) and Tandy is alive. In Fallout New Vegas, the head of the family Bishop is the son of tribal protagonist of 2.
- In Splinter Cell Double Agent, you may or may not shoot Lambert. The next game was established that in fact, Sam shot his boss.
- Kenny can die on Walking Dead season 1. Actually, is canon that he survive.
- Deus Ex HR have 4 ending. One of then is canon (most likely self destruction)
- If not mistaken, Martin Septim can die in Oblivion before the ending. but in fact, this not happen.
- Kyle Katarn (best Jedi ever) IS NOT the new Emperor.
and so on.

I actually see that being very unlikely, more so than BioWare bothering to bring back the MW part of the MEU. I think that Andromeda will be the setting in which this franchise ends.
