My Shepard is living happily in his apartment on the citadel with Ashley and two kids. The Reapers are gone and EDI/ Geth are not dead.

My Shepard is dead ... everyone in the Milky Way is dead ... but at least I shot the starbrat!

Seriously though, I expect a reboot over an outright revisitation. At least I'd expect that sooner. The original series is going to get extremely dated (it's already getting there), and no one wants that, do they? :D

But my point about the Transformers stands. Ryder is basically Rodimus Prime.

In other news, your Shepard does not exist. Fortunately, we're going to Andromeda, so it doesn't matter

My Shepard does exist. Since there is no Canon. But we are going to Andromeda so it doesn't matter. Why not make up my own ending? Better than anything you chose.

I will be riding my horse on the beach after fighting off a hoard of evil monkeys on one of the planets.  I will round a corner and see this...... and then I will know I am home.

I tend to agree that it's more likely if Andromeda sells poorly and there's some thought that going back to the MW would drum up more interest. On the other hand, perhaps poor sales for Andromeda would mean that Bioware just puts the franchise to rest and focuses on Dragon Age and new IPs instead.

If they were to go back, I'd prefer a prequel. Canonizing an ending would alienate a lot of fans (myself included, especially if it's Destroy or Refuse), and contriving ways to ignore the consequences of ME3 would require a lot of strained plotting.

I think i'm in the same boat of "Later. Much later" camp. As as i enjoyed bopping around the MW and having fun, i'd rather go to another galaxy then retread the old grounds until much later. ME3 was a success in some books but not all.

I do hope it's BioWare who writes the old (MW)-ground renewed (in another game) but i'm not expecting that from them. I think for now, the enthusiasm for MW has waned for everyone.

This.

Refuse to play the brat's game. (Nicely setting up the next cycle to defeat the Reaper's using the beacons left behind)

Bioware will have their work cut out for 'em if they ever do decide to go back to the MW I'd imagine. It's probably possible, if, you know, they'd be willing to put in a lot of time, money and effort to work with all possible outcomes and decisions of the trilogy, and then make a game that has drastically different stories depending on certain choices you made in the trilogy. Never know, in twenty odd years stuff like that might be second nature to game developers.

Buuut otherwise, going back might be a problem, and fans might be a smidge angry... also, I'm the queen of understatements.

I think it would work just as well to stay in the new system. I don't think the novelty of seeing Earth for a short time is really worth trying to mess with picking a canon ending. Most of the games took place on other planets, anyway. I really don't see much benefit of going back.

If they were going to, I think they might as well go with Synthesis, because it's the only thing that could clearly still happen. Humans still exist, we now know. You can always make more robots. If they throw in a reason in this game, or a future one in the Andromeda area, why a merge happens regardless, then they could theoretically still go back without a HUGE amount of change. But I think it would still take a lot and ultimately just not be worth it to cause the outrage that will definitely come from picking a canon ending.

No.

In the Bioware vault, the "Artistic Integrity " is canon. It's a "no touch" thing.

We're talking about future here, I dont mean in Andromeda, or the game after that. Heck, maybe not even 10 years from now. But do you think it will be possible for Bioware to go back to Milky way galaxy, and continue from where ME3 ended?

I'd like to see the Leviathans as foes and the necessity of Organic/synthetic hybrid protagonist in order to counter their control ability. Like a machine brain that functions on bioelectricity so that the protagonist can't be controlled or fall victim to the Leviathan "EMP" attack.

This would be interesting as it would be a civil war between the controlled and those struggling to maintain their freedom. Like a proxy war with the Leviathans pulling the strings from the shadows. Then we can have some a-hole politician saying, "Ah, yes, Leviathans".

I guess it's possible, but I don't think it'll ever happen. If it does happen, however, my gut feeling tells me it might not be for another 10+ years from now (they'll want to milk the franchise within the new Andromeda setting first, for at least two or three titles).

The only way I see them going back to the Milky Way is if they retcon the entire thing.

Master Chief wasn't going to be in any Halos after 3.  Until he was.  So who knows?

Are you sure about that? I thought bungie was going to be in charge of the reclaimer tril until they gave it up for that mass effect wannabe sham called destiny. I wouldn't know. I don't play Halo anymore. It's dead to me.
