If you want to have powerful auto-attacks and high armor without bothering with activated abilities, then don't worry about Willpower.

If you want to use things like Shield Bash and Overpower in every fight, then put at least 10 additional points into Willpower.

Willpower contributes to your mental resistance, which means you're less likely to be stunned, paralyzed, etc. by an enemy shield bash or an enemy spell.

Overall, it's worth bringing up to 20 as a warrior or rogue, more if you're a mage, so you have the means to chain together some abilities in a tough spot.

I'd say its less useful for mages because they have mana potions and once you get someone to herbalist 4 you'll be able to make an unlimited amount of the potent mana potions because the cost to make them is less than their sell value.

Or invest into WILL, and save actions for spells rather than taking potions.

^It becomes a chicken or egg thing at some point.  Invest in Willpower to be able to cast more spells, which means spellpower is lower, so you may need more spells for the same effect.

Arcane Bolt takes 15 mana at 0 fatigue, which is 3 points into Will.

It's a shame for Willpower that Mental Resistance isn't hardly used.

Not when it requires resources to make said potions including Skill selections, and the time it takes to consume them. Investing more into WILL appears to be an easy choice, at least until 30+ pts.
