Don't make me laugh.Imagine if those guys at Square Enix did the hair for this game... That would be funny.
Bioware sucks when it comes to hairstyles.

Unfortunately, I do think bad hair has become too much of a Bioware trademark...
I hate when stupid things become trademarks, Just like the bugs and graphics in Bethesda games. They are horrible but it's "fine" because it's Bethesda.
I'm not gonna be mad if the hairstyles aren't good in the game, but why not!? They have the money and i'm sure they are talented to do it.

BW needs to hire fashion designers and hair stylists because their clothing styles suck just as much as the hair.
This has got me thinking. Why did regular clothes disappear? James Vega is the only person in existence that owns a t-shirt.

We don't need forty versions of bald head!!! At least in DAI they bumped up the beards.
I actually agree! They need to google hairstyles and hair stylists.

BW tried to make regular clothes, I think MShep fair a bit better with the leather jacket outfit. I feel sorry for FemShep with that fugly black dress. I used the save game editor to get the hoodie and wore it during the Citadel party. It would be nice if they actually made decent clothing for Ryder instead of running around in a uniform all the time.

I like for my Ryder to walk around the ship with running shoes, jeans and a t-shirt that says humanity #1. excellent. If she/he is military, then wearing BDU bottoms with boots and a t-shirt would be fine. Similar to what James wore.

I think they have someone like that. Whoever did Aria and Jack has a lot of style. Now they need to do everything.

FemShep should've been able to sport that leather jacket. Ridonkulous.

The hair stylist for Kai Leng would be good to have since he/she did a good job with his hair.

And to add to the above, it should have been a short leather jacket (like Aria and Jack).

IKR, this needs to be more of a thing with games in general.
I remember finding the fashion from Deus Ex: Human Revolution to be pretty stylish.

This is Bioware we're talking about. It is hard to do apparently. Years upon years of mass effect and dragon age games have proven that.Just give me plain old long hair (both genders) and I'll be happy. I haven't played much of Fallout 4, as the gameplay doesn't really appeal to me, but I have to commend it for having better hairstyles than Bioware. Not hard to do!

Well considering that Ryder is probably a soldier and not a random civilian shoved into the Ark,then most likely we won't see long hairstyles.
I doubt there gonna be many Earth-like planets that allow you to go without helmet, unless BW plans adding "Hide Helmet" feature even on non-breathable planets.
Or we just gonna have a classy big transparent bulb for a helmet.

You are an annoyance. Anyway. The Alliance obviously has less strict rules in terms of hair, tattoos, etc. And we military trained explorers. Do NOT use modern day example. It doesn't work. Really!?!? Not many breathable planets?!? You're even sillier than I thought. There'll probably be plenty.#BaldLivesMatter!

It's not so much the length but just what many consider to be poor options of models in general. I actually favor the shorter hairstyles myself.

Thanks for clarifying that. The point about environment interested me too. Wouldn't it be easier to get richer characters if environments were done in smaller cells? Seems like that was the case in older games. Maybe I'm just speaking out of my ass, but it seems like there are bad tradeoffs with an open world.
What is a "bad trade off" for one person isn't a bad trade off for another. I don't think bad hair is a "bad trade off" when I get large zones to explore. The reason I don't feel that way is that I always found Bioware's 'corridor' zones even areas meant to be vast and open like Dantooine in Kotor or the Brecilian forest in DA:O to be irksome. The small confined zones broke immersion for me. The key here is "for me," other people it never bothered them. So having bad hair in DA:I but having better looking assets (in general) be they characters, equipment, environments or monsters in a vast open zone was a trade off I was more than willing to make.
I did a factual based ratio of the amount of "filler" quests and posted in on theses forums multiple times, in DA:I vs DA:O and the truth is they are very close less that one extra quest side per main quest + companion quest AND because of how the game scaled you could choose to do LESS side quests than DA:O because the game was designed for player to choose not to do quests if they didn't want to. The quest types are mechanically near identical in each game so as to be no difference as well. So the vast amount of filler quests that fills DA:I is factually not true.
HOWEVER the main difference is zone size. In DA:O or the ME series you could do side quests along the way. There was little to no detours to obtain side quests because the zones being so tiny didn't allow there to be. This meant it took almost zero effort to complete side quests while doing main quests in DA:O or the ME series. This isn't the case in DA:I you had to go out of your way to do quests, any quests, side, companion or main because the zones were so large. Now if you enjoy the scenery and enjoy the exploration aspects of games this wasn't a bother. If you could care less about either than it was a pain because it took effort and time to do so.
There isn't a right or wrong to this but open world games with voiced narrative story telling has met a convergence point with three AAA RPG studios all approach RPGs slightly differently starting at different points but arriving at the same point. We saw this with DA:I, Witcher 3 and fallout 4. All games were both a critical and fan success in that they all won numerous awards both from the industry and fans and they were all financial success for their respected studios. Right now we are in the era of the open world rpg. It is here to stay in the foreseeable future but I also see where these games get better with each passing instalment as studio's learn how to exploit these new systems to their fullest.
If open world isn't to your liking then indie rpg developers seems to be the solution as there is zero reason to expect any of the afore mentioned studios .0will abandon their current direction after their success. So is this really a "bad tradeoff?" Given how well the games sold and were received despite the vocal minority of the forums here there is reason to believe the trade off was worth it from the studio perspective. And like I said environment is only one factor ignorance of the new engine was likely the biggest issue and the second was the game was made for 5 fraking platforms with vastly divergent power capabilities. The engine effects so many systems and not fully having experience how to get the engine to do X, Y, & Z means you are going to spend time on making core mechanics work vs worrying about a bunch of gamers boo hooing about hair. And when you have 5 platforms you can't implement certain "solutions" because the last gen consoled can't do it. And as i said the game was originally designed to be released BEFORE the current gen console were on the market so obviously dropping last gen wasn't going to happen so wasn't a reasonable solution. But whoever accused gamers of being reasonable?

lol, Well, I *do* like customizing my virtual dolls especially in 3rd person games where I see my character a lot. It's fun to watch her stroll through the game and sit back all smug in my ability to make the awesomest virtual doll ever.

Yes, yes they can, unfortunately. We've had this same thread before every game release. Thousands of posts about hair that bioware ignores.
I'm not even asking for long hair. Just give me some stylish updos. Give us something more than slicked back buns and ponytails. Make the updos attractive with details like braiding and escaped bits of hair. Avoid receding hairlines. The braided style in DAI was pretty except for the stupid hairline.
Wait, what am I doing? This will fall on deaf ears.
Really i almost do not believe you that's just ... i have no words to describe how weird that is. So they do not read anything we write here. Now i wonder why there even is a forum.
And yes this will indeed fall on deaf ears then.
Yes they can. People have been bringing this up for years, it hasn't led to anything. Bioware is notorious for being terrible at creating good hairstyles for their games.
That's just so weird and as i said to Maia0407 why is there even a forum just for fun ?

For MEA, people asked for long hair, we even suggested ponytails etc... And look what happened, default female Ryder has actually long hair and a ponytail !
Better hair is an old request, it's obvious they noticed it already.
So maybe we won't have all the things we want but they certainly will improve hairstyles, I'm sure about it
and imagine if they don't, with all the beautiful things other companies can do now, they will look really stupid ~
I bet we will have cool new stuff on the CC, have hope ![]()
