Bioware sucks when it comes to hairstyles.

And who really know what they read or not ?
For MEA, people asked for long hair, we even suggested ponytails etc... And look what happened, default female Ryder has actually long hair and a ponytail !
Better hair is an old request, it's obvious they noticed it already.
So maybe we won't have all the things we want but they certainly will improve hairstyles, I'm sure about it
and imagine if they don't, with all the beautiful things other companies can do now, they will look really stupid ~
I bet we will have cool new stuff on the CC, have hope
I don't know i just thought that they did and that that is the reason why they made this forum in the first place. And that they were doing something with the critics in these threads and posts but apparently they don't. I wonder what am i still doing here if they don't read and listen to us "the gamers" anyway.

You shouldn't be too worried.
They are quiet (I was told it was after the ME3 ending, I wasn't on the forum at this period) but for example Jos Hendriks still post sometimes on the Twitter thread. So yes, some devs are still coming here ~

Really i almost do not believe you that's just ... i have no words to describe how weird that is. So they do not read anything we write here. Now i wonder why there even is a forum.
And yes this will indeed fall on deaf ears then.
That's just so weird and as i said to Maia0407 why is there even a forum just for fun ?
Its not that they don't know we want it. Its that they've decided not to allocate the resources into providing it. It is pretty demanding on the resource front after all.
They feel there are things worth more than it and that is where those resources will be allocated.
As for the forum, Bioware doesn't come around here anymore with a visible presence outside of like Jesse Reid who helps people out with any issues on the forum they have with say formatting, forum access, or things of that nature.
This forum used to be social. Now it just exists for the sake of existing. Sad shell of what it used to be.

Well... here aren't as bad as Eric Musco and Tait Watson for BW Austin... MMO are way brutal than us SP gamers
I think the only grand time I have with the devs was during goose cam.

It's not even the lack of long hair as their selection of short styles is pretty bad. I bought DA:I a while back and 40% of the hair options are trash. But I'm pretty sure they've gotten the hint by now.

Doubt it. I'm done giving the benefit of the doubt. Too much over the last half decade.

I don't know anything about programming these things, but the skull cap thing under the helmets... there's something amateur-ish about it. This is 2016 (or 2014 when DAI released). WTH is that? Even Skyrim can do hair in helmets.
They've got a whole problem with "things on heads" in general. It isn't just hair.

That means the majority of the hairstyles aren't trash.

Heck even Fallout 4, with its atrocious facial animation, can have our PC wear a hat without the skull cap.

This is probably one of the few topics that I don't get tired of because BW really does need to work on the hairstyles. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they have multiple hairstyles in ME:A that are really great (as opposed to one or two per game on average that I find okay/nominally acceptable).

Or

^ Apologies about the graphics. But in case it's not apparent, Jill has these pieces of hair sticking out from underneath her hat.

^ They've been doing the hat trick with the Saint's Row franchise for years. Either hat with a bit of...crew cut thing-even if you have long hair on your character. More recently they just put long hair in a little ponytail when you wear a hat.
So, yeah. Not sure why the skull cap.

Agreed.
Although in BioWare's defense, most games have shitty hair options with only a few in each being OK enough.
Or maybe that's just the gay Lebanese part of me that finds anything other than well trimmed short cuts appalling.

As far as hair with hats goes... Instead of making you bald, why not (at least) replace your hairstyle with something like this when you're wearing a hat? Tuned to your hair color, of course.

This would work. I just hope that they pay attention to details, which they won't, like not replacing curly hair with straight hair or replacing short hair with shoulder length hair. Those little details being ignored are really jarring for me in games with hats. I'm much less likely to wear a hat if they can't get it right. Or, if I'm forced to wear a hat, I have to go back and choose a style that makes sense with the hat. Limits mah choices, waaaaah!
I'd also be happy with ponytail or bun replacements for characters with hair long enough to use those styles. I'd actually prefer that the devs let us have a choice for under the helmet styles (for scenes when the helmet is removed) as wearing hair down under a helmet would be a nightmare. A sweaty tangly mess to be dealt with by damaging your hair later trying to get the tangles out.
Realistically, though, I know none of this is likely to happen. I'll just reiterate my plea for attractive updo options.

"Games with hats"? Which others are you talking about?
DAI is the only one I know that's done so poorly. I mean, just look above... we've got Jill Valentine cirta 1990s or something... and it's still not as shoddy as this. They should be ashamed. I don't care what technical excuse they have or what corners they're trying to cut.
edit: We shouldn't even have to say this. Why isn't there some manager or team lead that is equally embarrassed?
