Mordin can live depending on previous choices and what dialogue is used
With Kaidan, just don't pick the dialogue that would lead to a relationship.

Kaidan does come across a bit strong. I don't know if it is because you are nice to him in the hospital dialogs or what.

I don't get weird vibes from any of the characters. If I want to romance them, then yes, I will romance them, if not, then no. My understanding of Kaiden is that he loves Shepard regardless of gender.

.... that strange moment when stuff like a character complaining about about how "his daddy don't give him what his wants, about how he complain to his daddy who gave him what he wants, about how the world isn't fair, about how its everyone's fault that everyone's die and not his, about how easier is when he could shoot his problem, about how he can't do what he have to do until someone hold his hand to do it, about how hard his work and adult life is" etc isn't considered as whining to majority people playing this game...
At least Kaidan is optional, I would love to kill off Liara in ME1 just so I could avoid her hugs and being okay with her default overly-attached creepy stalker tendencies.

He can hit on you yes but you can also give him the "we are just pals" talk... its hardly game busting.

Kaidan to me is just plain weird, doesn't make much sense half the time, seemed wishy-washy in ME1, think it's his implants, ME2 wasn't much better on the Horizon meeting and ME3 he's just off the deep end, end up letting Garrus shoot him at the end of chasing the Council.
One thing you can say about Ashley is she's a consistent xenophobic, family person, but you knew what she was talking about if you do talk to her.

\You just called Ashley consistent across the trilogy, and Kaidan inconsistent? Um... What? I and many others dislike ME3 Ashley for how much she changes from the previous games and like Kaidan because he stays consistent but improves over the course of the series. You've got it backwards.

Kaidan was always a bit creepy, that wasn't any different in ME1 if you play femShep. You feel like you're walking on egg shells to not trigger the romance, it's simply his character.
That weird smile and stare he does as Shepard walks up to him in ME1 always creeped me out, both him and Liara are really easy to ninja romance.
