The Citadel is one of my fave DLC's of all time. Hope to see more like it moving forward.

I played a bit yesterday. It was fun and last DLC of the game after all the shitstorm about the ending. Great at insanity too especially Armax Arsenal Arena's Mirror Match, also it includes Collectors and MP enemies. Also the story enemies ranged from Shield/Drone, Shield/Sniper, Shield/Armor and crazy ass Shepard. Additional romance scene. Fairly decent conclusion of Mass Effect Foundation.

It is silly but it was the most companion-centric narrative in the trilogy. You never see most of these character interact with one another unless you have this DLC.

Of course, you can't please everyone.

Two disappoints for me in regards to the dlc

ME2 squadmates not as squadmates during the gameplay portion

Samantha, Jack, Miranda and Steve not able to be with Shepard during the casino mission

Citadel was the ending we needed.  But not the ending we deserved.

I thought it was tonally jarring, and would have preferred it to involve fighting the Collectors and include another showdown with Harbinger. Possibly with a Reaper avatar version of the Shepard clone.

I thought it was fantastic in how it perfectly capitalized on what the ME series had set up for 3 games, i.e. the connection you built towards your team. It shows how these diverse characters genuinely care for each other. The main plot with the clone is of course a bit silly but it works in the context of this DLC I think and I did enjoy the lighter tone, compared to the rest of ME3.

However, I do think the DLC doesn't work at all in ME3, exactly because of that light tone. It feels completely jarring to play it in the middle of the game, like something foreign that doesn't really belong in there. Playing it as an epilogue (e.g. with Deager's Citadel Epilogue Mod) works a lot better than playing it during the game itself.

I usually play Omega and Citadel DLC in between Rannoch arc and meeting with Asari Councillor at the Citadel, when the atmosphere wasn't too dark or bleak and a bit hopeful (since you took down a second Reaper after all and the Asari can wait). I do the party before Cronos Station as Shepard and co's last shore leave together.

I find its a tad immersion breaking if you play BroShep being this badass one man army and the DLC essentially show that you're plain useless without your friends and you are the damsel in distress in the first arc.

Why is it immersion-breaking there, and not with female Shepard?

You're having a date with Joker. You are the "damsel in distress" in a game where you always save the damsels. Your own clone is way better at emasculating and even more badass than you. Even FemShep have two one night stands while BroShep have none even after Samara's kiss.

The DLC was pure fanservicing but not really in favor for BroShep. They should bring Miranda and Jack back for the first arc at least. Would have been interesting considering Miranda knew Rasa.

The clone's a damn punk, and I still don't see why it's more immersion-breaking for a male Shepard.

I didn't really see the difference between genders here so I'm not sure what people are on about. I thought the solo combat sequence was good fun, and the CAT6 mercs a welcome break from Cerberus. And finally, a worthy vanguard opponent. CloneShep is what Vasir's punk ass should've been.

I seem to recall my DudeShep being in need of rescuing too.  And he's saved plenty of damsels in his time too.  Needing to be rescued by Ash wasn't exactly emasculating.

CloneShep was a walking, talking troll

I could just imagine Miranda being around:

Miranda: "Hey renegade Cerberus agent masquerading as an Alliance officer!"

Brooks:  "...sh*t."

I really liked Liara coming to my Shep's rescue, and getting somewhat distracted by her dress.

The story for citadel is really silly, too silly to be honest but it is very fun and enjoyable but the best parts of the DLC are afterwards with the companion meetups, minigames, armax arena matches and then the party is alot of fun.  Overall it is a fun dlc but one that can't be taken seriously.

Some bits of it were too politically correct for my taste. Most jokes weren't funny, the idea for the antagonist (a clone) just couldn't be taken seriously and the squadmates' comments plus the dancing at the party gave me a headache. It wasn't all bad, but that was my impression, anyway.

Wrex and the tango with Garrus were perfect, though. Also, the shooting scene right after  Wrex's entrance. I also liked seeing the secret files in the Citadel Archives. In all honesty, if it weren't for Wrex, Zaeed, Garrus and James, I wouldn't bother playing the DLC in future gameplays.

One does not have to choose dancing as an option. Options are good.

This DLC had such great potential. With the clone Shepard, we could finally explore Shepard's existential crisis. Do we play as the real Shepard? Is that other Shepard real? Are we both simply clones? Instead we got camp.

I enjoyed it, for the most part...there are many funny moments and I liked Liara's romance scene. Sure, it really doesn't fit the tone of ME3, the jokes didn't hit the mark everytime and there are some bizarre parts like the Traynor hot tub scene or James' "romance"...but I think it worked as a fond farewell to a protaganist and a set of characters we had spent a trilogy of games with (and a bleak ending). The cheesy mission plot worked in that environment as did the meet ups and party. But it shouldn't be the template for future DLC.

The entire DLC was worth it for "All right. Sit tight, little guy. Anybody gives you trouble...go for the eyes."

Very few games, or anything really, can get me to laugh out loud but that line did it.

For me The Citadel DLC was Bioware showing they still remembered why people fell in love with this universe, the characters that live in it.

Yes, it does sort of make the plot of the overall game go like this.

For me Citadel was fun the first two times and with 2 of my Shepards. Afterwards and with a hardcore renegade, it's trash. Too silly and ooc and it was redundant. Javik shouldn't have been in it and some characters were missing or ignored (Ken, Gabby, Chakwas, Legion). Like blOmega I can get into it at all anymore. Bring Down the Sky and Shadow Broker far exceed it imo. Well with the expception of Liara's character getting butchered in ME2.

IMO Citadel DLC is great. Yes, it is completely silly, and I will not play it with certain types of 'No-Nonsense' Shepards, but it is great.

Having Wrex back (even if just the watered down version) was awesome. And the Silversun-strip ambient dialogue, with all the MP throwbacks is pure gold.

Plus, hearing these NPCs talk about their experiences is one of the very few instances in the game were you are reminded that the Normandy crew is not fighting alone in the war.

I thought it was great. While it was much more tongue in cheek than the rest of the game, some of the themes carried through (i.e. the importance of teamwork). There is humor throughout the whole ME trilogy so I don't think this felt that tonally different. If anything, it let us see these characters as 'real' people  instead of just cardboard 'heroes'.

It thought it was amazing, but as they say everyone has different opinions.
