After seeing a lot of negativity on the forums, I decided to create a topic to discuss the positives. I'm not saying that critique is BAD, there just seems to be so much of it that it's a little depressing. Like one positive for four critiques.

Personally, I loved the opportunity play qunari/vashoth in Dragon Age:Inquisition. What I like most about Dragon Age games is the replayability and the opportunity to be many different characters.

So what do you like about Dragon Age franchise? Big things, little things, let's show some appreciation here :)

And if your sentence goes something like the following:

I liked this, but I hate...

I hate (insert game from the franchise here)...(example just in case: I love everything about Origins, but hate the other games!!!!)

Don't bother, I'm sure there are many other topics where you can express these thoughts.(If you want to talk about Origins feel free of course, just don't bash the other games.)

I love the character development, CGI artwork and the attention to detail in all the games. Silly little things like the Sam and Frodo inference when you read the letter left by the 2 dead guys and it says somthing about "why didn't we take the giant eagles." and the Superman inference with the old couple and the asteriod, in DAO. Hawke saying "I love it when a plan works out." had to have something to do with the A-Team and having Dwight (H.M. Murdock) Shultz voicing Bohdan. I loved many of the voice acters and how they all did a wonderful job playing their characters, (Dorian has a special place in my heart, the performance was amazing)

Voice acting is definitely a strong suit for the franchise, and character writing in general is absolutely fantastic. The

amount of detail that go into the motivations of every character and why they do what they do (especially DA2 handled

this well) is astonishing. In addition, I find that every locale in the franchise feels like a new place, (DA2 handled this less

good but still managed to give Kirkwall a very authentic and original feeling compared to any other locations in TheDAS).

In comparison to the Mass Effect franchise, I feel that the story in Dragon Age has always been pushed forward not by

the protagonist, but strongly by the supporting cast, and that is something that few writers do well.

Bioware, take good care of your writers. They give you fantastic material.

I think the best part of DAI is the choice to obtain support for either the mages or the templars. Not only did the dialogue change, but it had real impact by having some mutually exclusive quests, NPCs and rewards. I really like to see more of that.

I also like that we were invited to join the beta tests of the DAI patches. I enjoyed participating, but I wished there was more input from the testers. There were several nasty bugs reported that never got fixed.

I think right now I'm glad there's an appreciation thread.  :)

As much as I'm aware that none of these games are without flaws, I enjoy them and it's nice to remember why rather than be bogged down by the negativity that can occur. Hell, spending time around the Andromeda section lowers my Mass Effect high... and that sucks.  :(

I love this series. Couldn't stop playing once I started. But, these are a few of my favorite things:

Characterslove them. Their writing/stories/personalities/voices/interactions/relationships. So much that I feel protective of them. Perhaps irrationally so. Considering Dragon Age has introduced me to my next/current character obsession (*cough*Anders*cough) that's a good thing. Sounds bad, maybe, but it's good.  <3 Romances go along with this, of course.   ;)

The fact that I can be a female hero/protagonist and kick butt.   B)

Magic. What is life without magic? It's not life. Fact.  :wizard:

Also Spirits and the Fade -- a trippy "dream" realm filled with complicated inhabitants. Unlimited fun. (no, i'm not being sarcastic.)

The lore. That each game is interconnected/overlapping. So much mystery of the past and uncertainty of the future. hmmmmmmm   So much I don't know and I want to know it.

Adventures, or misadventures. No matter what will happen, I'm always diving right in.   :D

should i come back and share more? i might.

Magic! I can't live without the stuff, otherwise all of my character will be soooo boring as rogus and warriors.

Characters like Alistair that I don't want to kill ever. He makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, lol. As does Cass, as well.

The dialogs and the interaction with the characters, even the NPCs. Everything feels so real!
