Are the Challenges worth striving for anymore?

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer has been out for quite some time now and I am curious to know if doing any of the Challenges actually mean anything anymore; or, is it just a waste of time?  I do play the single still and I am currently promoting my Avatar(s)….especially my Turian Sentinel; (1.) achieve the N7 Mastery of 60 promotions; (2.) because it adds seventy-five N7’s, with every promotion, to the War Assets of the Alliance. And, not that the latter means much either since I have the “Happy Ending” mod installed.

Having said that I believe it is just a matter of seeking achievements, because what else is there in the multiplayer game? Obviously you get better at playing the game the more that you play, but it is still a rinse and repeat kind of game. Now don’t get me wrong, because I thoroughly enjoying the game?!? And, I do strive to get better at it. Still, I am curious as to what others think and why they still play the game???

Challenges introduce variety to the game and make you learn different play styles. You don't seem to be a fan of either of those, so no, from your perspective I can't imagine there's much point.

There was a time I quite enjoyed going for BOTB. Not for the ugly banner, but at that time most of what I was trying was new to me in some fashion. Got my arse at least gold worthy and eventually plat worthy on basically all kits now. (I still don't like Volus Adept or power-heavy-Collector, timing feels wrong.)

I've never gone out of my way to do challenges, though I know a lot of players who play based on which challenges they are working on. It's solely a matter of preference: if you want to complete them, go for it; if not, play the characters and weapons you feel like playing and you'll finish them eventually anyway.

They encourage playing out of comfort zone.

That's the dream right there, man. I want to attain a completely useless level of competence at this stupid game.

Same. But I only have Bomber Points 3 to go to get the Geth one.

Edit: I also need to kill about 10 pyros, too.

They are Numbers. Numbers that go up. Numbers that go up, in fact, when you do things. The Numbers must be increased! The Numbers must be obeyed!

The Numbers know you--they see into your soul. They know that you would play nothing but Reegar AIUs and Harrier TGIs without the incentive of challenge points. Thus, the Numbers encourage diversity of play.

Are challenges worth it? They are the only part of the game--nay, our miserable lives--that are worth it!

No true! I am currently working on getting 60 promotions for my N& Mastery: Just like I stated in my initial post. Therefore, I never said I wasn't a fan.

I get it Master of the numbers! I get it!  :D

I was just wondering if they were still worth achieving, that's all.

I have already done the Cyber Warrior twice now.  Still, I am unaware of how to change it to say, the Biotic God, or something all together different?

If you're still playing the game, then there's at least some reason it's worthy for you to play.

The only challenge I ever cared for was lone wolf but it quickly lost it's appeal for me. The other challenges I completed weren't intentional

I like to keep pushing up the score, but that's just me, it doesn't matter one little bit really unless you want it to. So if you want to go for it, it's not worth doing in any absolute terms but what is? If you get some satisfaction from it go for it, if you don't then ****** doesn't matter in the slightest.

Them challenges usually just make happen themselves and there is rarely a need to farm or do something about it. Apart from grabs and even these can be done, although grabs take forever to complete without farming. But they are a gentle reminder to keep your diversity meter in check and try everything at some point when you feel like it. IMO, completing every challenge at least once was actually the best thing I managed to do in this game apart from maxing the manifest and ... surprize...

Spoiler

challenges are only worth doing if your having fun at the time, otherwise it is literally a waste of time.

i was #1 on my country boards for 2 weeks on my main account, then i realized there was this place called outside, i was quickly surpassed by other people that had not realized this strange realm existed.

basically, they dont matter unless your having fun trying different things out, but a few thousand and up make you not look like a total noob.

As some have already stated, challenges can give you a small goal to work towards while playing.

Gives you a reason to play non-OP-Kits and less effective weapons - basically challenge yourself by doing challenges.

I personally love following the various challenges and always choose characters and weapon-loadouts based on my current challenge progress.

I never played for the challenges. After several hundred hours I still play it because it's fun. Having played some other MP games like COD and Battlefront, this is what I keep coming back to. It'll be a sad day when they finally turn the servers off.
