I always meant to test the no CD throw 5b but never did it. How does it work ? one every two throw is free ?
As far as DC goes, it s really usefull on plat solos, and definitly more cooperative on a team game. Small deal though. And if u got deerber's fury on a glacier gold team game, u should hit the spectate button
Well, thanks for the compliment. Glacier is definitely overkill on her.
As for throw 5b, the Feneckus' vid you've probably already seen uses that evo, I'm pretty sure. The recharge is not istantaneous for some reasons, but it's still pretty fast.
After this thread, couple nights ago, I decided to break my Battlefront addiction and have a couple games of ME3 with her. I tried both the no CD evolution and the combination of 60% CD reduction rank 6 throw and all weight reduction in passives, both with the High Lord. They're both very good and fun, and make for a different playstyle on her, just slightly less frantic. I'd say the no CD evolution is slightly faster, but I don't know if it's faster enough to justify losing the 50% damage bonus for it. Not to mention that god forbids you miss a throw in the wrong situation...
I know you know lol.
You're largely exagerrating that ratio. Actually I would say it's the opposite, DC is going to be almost useless only on Glacier. In all other maps you can perfectly cast DC first and still having Throw available when you reach the spawn. Or better, you can cast it on a Banshee or a Praetorian to eat their barrier / prime for a BE for an other teammate and for a warp rounds damage bonus while you go chasing Marauders / Ravagers, etc. DC is also useful when you can't engage in CQC, notably during objectives. With an other biotic in the team, it's totally possible to stop a Banshee with BEs before she reach the hack or escort. Last but not least, there's the fun part. I find utterly boring to constantly use the same sequence of attacks, that's why I almost never skip entirely a power. That's personal of course.
I'm obviously not advocating to play the Fury by "staying back and slowly eat ennemies with DC and Throw", nobody with a decent experience in this game would. The AF + Throw routine must stay the main source of damage of the Fury for a maximal effectiveness, I don't think there's a debate about that.
As for the team comment, well... The team's purpose is usually to end the match in the fastest way possible, so as I see it I'm actually being more beneficial to them by running in and throw bombing that spawn than by staying back and slowly eating it with DC and throw.
That's a very strong assumption. I don't share it. I believe, at the opposite, that most people value more the manner than the time and have more fun when the coordination between teammates is important. I've always found pleasant to find a good rythm with a teammate that prime or detonate your combos. Who gives a **** if the game lasts 20 or 22 minutes ? Certainly not me.
But maybe that's just me, I never really got this obssession about time. I guess that's why I never cared much about speedruns.
If you cast DC and you approach the spawn, you already wasted some good precious time. Which is definitely not made up for by the DC.
Putting it on a boss and then going after smaller targets is pretty useless too, as you're going to do what, half of their barriers' worht of damage over the course of the whole round? Big deal... I'd rather have my throw have 0.15 secs less CD.
As for when you can't engage in CQC, or you have to take your time to get into CQC yeah, you're right, and that's why I said that it's possibly useful on 10% of the maps... It's the very few maps with those very few spawns that you just can't approach head on at full speed unless you've got a death wish. But they're very few and in between. Obviously, all maps have hacks, but I don't really care about not being able to shoot things far from it, not with her nor with many other kits that focus on CQC... Since they're gonna be stopped/dead as soon as they get into the circle anyway. I guess people could be uncomfortable at that idea, but I don't mind it at all. At least you only have to deal with 1/2 of them, cause the respawns usually aren't gonna make it in time.
As for the fun comment well yeah, no arguments on that. Everyone has fun in their own way. I find the throw bombing thing so much frantic and fun that I really don't need anything else, but everyone's different. And yeah, I know perfectly well what you mean... After all, I think we've all had this discussion a gazillion times
And it's always looked like my opinion is pretty unpopular. Whatever XD
As for the time thing, well... You might be right. I know that's what I try to do when I play, and it's likely I think other people want that too cause I do. The obsession with time comes just naturally to some people after the realization that this game doesn't impose any challenge anymore to you... I guess not to everyone tho XD
