After the conversation with Aresh in Jack's old room, there is a journal update stating that I should 'walk with Jack'. Sadly, as soon as that journal entry pop-up appears, the cutscene of leaving the planet kicks in without giving me any opportunity to 'walk with Jack'.

I am assuming that this is not supposed to happen. I have tried reloading from earliers saves made during the mission (all the way back to doing the mission over again from the start), and the talk with Aresh still ends the mission without allowing me to take the walk.

Anyone else encountering a similar issue?

Mhm....as I recall it you're given a choice rigt before: Wheter to give Jack time to look around her old cell, or to force her to leave.

What did you choose? Did you have the opportunity to choose? Maybe it's a controler problem (another controler on the PC), so that the latter option was chosen beyond your control, which would then obviously trigger the cutscene.

Nope, I was freely able to choose the 'take all the time you need' option. I even tried the 'there's no time' option, just to see if they were somehow reversed or something, but it still always fails.

Sadly I cannot think of any reason why this would be happening. If it cheers you up then you should know that you don't miss that much.

There are three interactable objetcs on the room, you click on them and Jack talks about what happened. There is a fourth clickable object in the hallway right before the cell, same procedure.

After that the movie cuts in. If you can live with it and as long as you get the loyalty trait for Jack I think you're okay.

I have the same bug. And it is clearly a bug, because it kicks you out after a one second delay.

Dunno why it does it, but I also tried it both ways and from earlier saves.

Hope it wasn't important.

I have this problem too on the PC version. Tried reloading an earlier save as well but still happens. It also skips awarding you your paragon points, assuming u go that path.  I need those points badly because *spolier warning*

at the moment I am unable to break up the fight amicably.

I have had problems with many quests, alot of them will crash the pc. Talk to a npc a few different ones will also crash. Its not for lack of computer, I just think they rushed this with way too little testing.

well.. u also must know there are alot of bugs/crashes people are reproting but there are literally THOUSANDS of combinations of hardware/software and they couldnt possible test them all...and want to make money.. these problems are frustrating yes... but alot of crashes happen on systems of the same hardware configurations that do not happen with others with same hardware... drivers... os..etc....e.g. software issue..or conflict... not defending the fact that there are alot of bugs... just stating its impossible to catch everything for every combination...also this is fairly minor compared to alot of bugs which make the game unplayable...although not being able to "resolve the arguement" does suck :( hopefully u guys find a fix for this issue :)

I mysteriously got this bug as well. I've done the walk with Jack before, so I know how it plays out. But then I didn't have enough Paragon points for the event immediately following it, so I reloaded from a save before the mission.

Did a few other missions and came back with enough Paragon points, and now I get the exact same problem as described above: After you choose to walk around with Jack, she starts her dialog about how "nothing has changed, but everything is different". As soon as she is done saying this, it immediately skips to the cutscene of flying back out to the Normandy.

In the event it might make a difference, I'm running the Steam version of ME2.

I am experiencing the same issue now. However, strangely, I was able to do the walkthrough on my first play through. In regard to the impact of the missing content, I think that it largely depends on your perspective and what you want to get out of it. Personally, I enjoy the story and character development in Mass Effect. And, as this is a pivotal turning point for Jack's character, I feel that the overall game suffers for its loss.
I hope that we see a fix soon.

i had this bug as well and through trial aand error it looks like it is dependant on whether you kill aresh or let him go--letting him go removes the option to walk with jack, and shooting aresh allows you to walk with jack ,strange though its almost as if the game wants aresh to die, by removing the time delay, there is no way for aresh to outrun a nuke, and how does the nuke get there?

I have this too. It seems like no conversation option gives me the chance to walk with her. Can someone at least upload a video of the scene, so that I can see what happens?

The bugs (already had 2) start ruining my game experience - it's a shame, when you think about it.

I've had this once. It's not a big deal. It's just some more Jack being emo.

The times Ive had it, are due to my own impatience. Aresh living or dying has nothing to do with it. Using the space bar to skip through the dialogues, and having the forward key already pressed to move in the direction of the window are sure to trigger the bug.

Reload the save and let it play through, no problem. Reload again, and hit the spacebar (no forward key) no problem. Reload again, let the conversation flow, and have the forward key pressed by the end of the convo, sometimes causes it. Both space and forward will bring it about more often than not.

I'm having this same problem, was hoping maybe someone had a solution for it. I've tried letting the conversation flow normally without hitting the spacebar or anything, but no luck. I've tried both ways of dealing with Aresh and no luck there either. I've reloaded and tried again about a dozen times and no matter what I choose to do at the end when she wants to look around the room and I agree she starts talking, the Walk with Jack quest appears, and then we instantly cut to the shuttle video before I have a chance to say or do anything. Any ideas?

Just experienced it myself on my second playthrough as Paragon...weird.
