I like the idea abaut an Ryder family.
I would love to be able to create the sibling myself but I think they are maybe just going to generat one that looks kinda similar to our Ryder. I also wold love to be able to have two sistets or two brothers and not be set with either playing the brother or the sister.

considering what we've heard maybe the looks or sibling Ryder depends on the details of protag Ryder.

At least Bethany didn't have an aggressive/snarky attitude every single freaking time you did something. Seriously, NOTHING made him happy. NOTHING. Everything was about his stupid little brother complex. Bethany may have not been the most interesting character, but at least I didn't consider fratricide when she was the survivor.

I'm hoping Ryder is the younger sibling because I don't fancy being in the role of the older sibling since I worry it'll mean we have to be locked into a provider or responsible role. I prefer more roleplaying freedom and it could be interesting to be the younger sibling given that Hawke was the older sibling.  

 

Didn't they make you the youngest sibling in Dragon Age: Origins if you went the Human Noble and Dwarven Commoner route? Even the Human Origins in DA : I had you playing the youngest sibling. It's like a been there done that situation. It would be cooler if we get to play the middle child of the family. That way you can be both the younger and older sibling. Maybe your older sibling goes evil and you have to take charge or something.

Well there were two Krogan. One with Ryder amd Cora. The other had the pollen bomb. Female Krogan? How many of your females are named Drak?

I loved both. I found it really great that there was this whole antagonist sibling relationship there to contrast with the very sweet and tender relationship with Bethany.

A middle child is something I would not mind as long as I do not feel like we're being put into the caretaker or a similar role or it is mandatory that we have a good relationship to our sibling(s) and family.

 

The origins were short and the sibling aspect was not around much after that from what I can recall. With the exception of the Human Noble, the Dwarven Commoner had freedom to indicate their relationship with Rica like being protective or indifferent through dialogue from what I can remember even if the game did not reflect that.

 

This is something I like to see in Andromeda if we have a sibling. Basically, options in how what our relationships to our sibling(s) or family is. I'm not asking for something extreme like the player character wanting to physically hurt or kill them because they don't like them; just options to indicate that they like or don't like their siblings. I think I've phrased it better previously in another thread.

 

Note: I cannot remember my Dwarven Commoner run so there's some details I may be misremembering a couple of things.

If we do have a sibling I hope that they're off doing their own thing that they have their own squad and do their own off screen missions. We team up occasionally and meet socially but for the most part we're two equally capable badasses with their own life to lead.   

 

Grownups not kids living in each other's pockets squabbling over who gets the bigger bedroom. It's understandable that in DA our family members share a house and are defined by their place in the family after all it's a medieval ish setting but in a scifi setting little sister tagging along after your marine to tell you how awesome you are and little brother being desperate to escape your shadow just doesn't work for me.   

 

Mostly though I'm hoping we're not going to get the dead horse cliche of a sibling turning evil and only we can stop them.

Confirmed because the leak is pretty much true at this point. it's a very reliable source that hasn't been wrong so far. It's a team of three. That's us. It's nobody else but us. "Mystery N7 guy" has to be male Ryder in different armor than the white and blue pathfinder armor. We are seen jumping around in the N7 armor. People can make all the theories they want. I know what I've seen. He's in a squad of two confirmed swlquadmates mentioned in the leak and confirmed opinion the 2015 and 16 trailer. We see Ryder in armor using jump pack and the mako symbol in the distance.
