Cannibalism? What? Running off? He leave it until later in the order, and he forced to join, because pursued by templars. Anyway you can not ever leave the Grey Wardens.

Oh. Sorry http://dragonage.wik...s_(short_story)
This is not part of the game, but interesting story, I like (but this cannibalism here seems bullshit [or silly allegory?] – neither Anders nor Justice/Vengeance does not fit, I think...).

I think it was to bring to life that Anders was out of control immediately as he became Justice....

Yes, its clearly. And I still not see valid cause of cannibalism (blind rage? maybe) and I would not call it 'betrayal'. (But only meta knowledge!)
Without this story you can said that Anders betrayed you, when he escapes from Wardens, but with this story what Anders had done seems shame.
I don't know how to get Drunk Alistair in DA:I, but someone put the video:
Yeah, I've done that scene. That's definitely Warden Alistair, not exiled/drunk Alistair. If you spared Loghain in DAO and Loghain is still alive at the end of that, then he's the Warden in this scene. If Loghain died, you get Stroud. Drunk/exiled Alistair doesn't show up in DA:I.
Well, his dialogue is bitter and different from that of non-exiled Warden Alistair. Even the non-romanced one doesn't have those lines.
And there is the fact that the Codex also acknowledges an exiled/drunken Alistair as one of the possible "Warden ally"... at least, according to the wiki. Maybe you can exile him after killing Loghain? An unhardened Alistair who was not made king, perhaps? Or in a state were Loghain did the US?

Okay. If someone can tell me HOW you get Drunk/Exiled Alistair rather than Warden Alistair, I'd love to hear it. I've certainly never, ever been able to achieve that in any playthrough, no matter what worldstate I import.

Don't talk to Anora about having him crowned king alongside her before the landsmeet and push for Loghain to join the Wardens when the time comes. Alistair goes ballistic, he and Anora will be too angry to agree to marry on the spot. He'll start talking about forcing himself on the throne or whatnot, she'll start arguing for him to be executed to head off a potential civil war and you can ask her to have him exiled instead as a personal favor. Alistair leaves in a huff and voilá: sulky, drunken, passive-aggressive deserter exile Alistair in Dragon Age 2. Canon-wise, that's where I've personally left him.

I was playing with the Keep, and I guess the only way to get Exiled Alistair in DA:I is exile him in the Landsmeet and then make Loghain redeem himself by doing the Ultimate Sacrifice. This would leave you with a Warden from DA:O that overrides Stroud in DA:I.
@SmilesJA
How dare you accuse the dog of betrayal against the warden?
Stealing your food at night doesn't count it's your fault if you did not finish the dinner.

Well, this video says otherwise:

Yes, I've done a playthrough like that. I didn't get Alistair as my Warden in DA:I, however. I got Stroud (because Loghain died killing the archdemon). And if Loghain is alive, he's the Warden in DA:I. (At least, I think that was the worldstate. My memory is... well, I only started investigating this because I was under the impression that drunk!Alistair never turned up again after Teagan came to take him home in DA2, but now people are saying he rejoins the Wardens and can show up, so...).
One theory I saw is that there are TWO "exiled Alistairs" and you get the one who shows up in DA:I if you, as a male Cousland, marry Anora, but I haven't done a playthrough with that worldstate to verify.

My next DA:I playthrough will have to be one where I have a M!Cousland married to Anora (and keeping Leliana as a mistress, because I actually did that in a playthrough and I'd like to see it in DA:I), and Alistair exiled. I'm very interested to get to the bottom of this now.
(I still need to do a playthrough with Hard difficulty, so that's a good opportunity, there.)
Ironically Loghain is the only one that doesn't betray you no matter if your approval is low.

Really? Haven't done a Loghian alive playthrough yet.... ![]()

He doesn't. Even if you hate each other he still offers himself to kill the archdemon.

Really. I find that very funny. xD
Well, he did enough harm to you in the whole game before the Landsmeet (that can be worse if you play certain origins *like the City Elf*). Seeing that and realizing the folly of his actions (that his antics would've destroyed his homeland), I guess he gave up in the idea of killing/betraying you.
