Does anyone hope for some Bounty Hunting type side quests similar to Witcher 3s contract?

I've always loved the whole "Space Bounty Hunter" aesthetic/theme in certain Sci Fi works (Cowboy Bebop for one) and it would make for an awesome element due to the focus on exploration/investigation that Bioware have specified.

If there are then they better not be randomly generated garbage. Give me quests with effort put into them. Make the bounties interesting.

If it fits into the lore of the game, fine.  if not, no.

Ok, works for me.

I wouldn't mind to be a female Malcolm Reynolds.

In fact, I wouldn't mind if we are at war in the first game, we are tossed away and in the second game we are like smugglers outside the law for both, Andromedians and MilkyWayers.

Let's think of a scenario where this could work.

We make it to Andromeda. We engage in civil conversation with the galactic 'council' of Andromeda, so as to limit or avoid any fighting between us and them. Due to some demands from us that many people dislike, some of those people depart from our Arks and seek out to do things their own way; even if that means killing Andromedans. Seeing as we are venturing out in exploration missions, we are told about this and are tasked with dealing with them. Then it's just a case of making each bounty hunt different and interesting.

Could something like that work? Maybe. It depends on the overall plot of the game. Bounty hunts themselves could work, but there must be a reason for them, and they must make sense within the game and lore.

For example. Andromedans would unlikely give us bounty missions, because they don't know us. They don't know how we deal with criminals. How we go about executing a mission. Our means are a complete unknown, so they probably would not gives us contracts on their own people, even if "by any means necessary" was on the table.

I would however like bounty hunt missions. Particularly ones that are lengthy and meaty. I want to feel like a hunter when I chase them.

The leaks mentioned assassination missions. Here you can send an AI unit to take care of it or take it upon yourself.

Whatever missions they do, be they about bounty hunting, assassination or whatever, they better be interesting and unique.

I'm kinda reminded of Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood where they start out having stories. But if you keep doing them they run out stories and just become an endless line of storyless asassinations. Which is reasonable after a certain point.

Only if there's a reference to how much of a punk-ass Boba Fett is.

Could work if they have a western lawless vibe to Andromeda.

As long as the bounties have some story, variety and choice to them similar to Witcher 3 contracts  i'd be happy with the notion of their inclusion.

Why would that be a requirement? Bounty hunters exist right now in major cities.

Maybe in the US, but where I come from we certainly don't have anything that smells like it.

Well, milky way species never had contact with andromedeans before. So how exacly you think they'll be able to comunicate? You think english is a popular language in Andromeda too?? The way i infered from the few trailers released, Andromeda is "still" a "wild" envinroment

I can see this for the next game but not really this one. Then again, there seems to be some number of similarities brewing between this game and DA2, which had some of these bounty quests. I guess it's likely for side quests, as anything can really go in this regard if done right, but nothing for main quests. We are suppose to be the pathfinder, after all. All exploring and first contact and stuff.

And that's relevant how?

You think everyone in the Milky Way was speaking English all the time? They used universal translators. All the Milky Way refugees will have to do is record the natives' communications for a bit and software will take care of the rest.

Meaning, it is not something universal, which can be found everywhere. And most likely not in a setting which emphasizes exploration or finding new home planets.

Nothing is universal. I have no idea why you think bounty hunting not being a thing in some places means it can't be a thing somewhere else. That makes zero sense. Bounty hunting is a thing in America but not Norway so that means there's no bounty hunting in Andromeda? WTF?

And most likely not in a setting which emphasizes exploration or finding new home planets.

Why not? I'm not particularly in favor of bounty hunting in MEA(2 rule of cool 4 me) but I don't see any inherent reason why exploration or finding worlds to colonize would preclude bounties.

My point is that Bounty hunters do exist but Lassoing in a military presence to moonlight at such a task doesn't. However in a situation where there is a far less developed system of law and order such as a western new frontier setting it Would be more fitting to be drawn into dealing with such lawlessness.

The "new frontier" thing and the appearance of the armor say it has a big influence in that, so probably we'll have that option.

That would be cool. I may have to name my character Spike Ryder.
