Just finished the descent after a long dai absence and i fee like i missed something

The ancient dwarves appear to have weapons similar to varrics but more powerful and stone shaping abilities/etc. were they being controlled by the titan or just leeching off of it. Were there survivors

At times during battles it appeared as though they were being aided by revenants?

Is valta possibly the good version of coripheus (spelling) as its strongly implied shes more than a dwarf

Were the darkspawn in the begining allied with the titan or just drawn to it?

Is renn going to be a golem, a zombie or just getting a second chance

Wasnt there mention of possibly new bad guys (snake men) in 2 dlcs. Chronicles of a forgotten war. I hope they get tied into da4 and not as solas allies

From what I can remember those dwarves were rejected by the Titan , but it seems they are addicted to lyrium and trying to mimic a lost bond. They want something like what happened to Valta , being able to communicate with the Titan but for reason unknown the Titan is ignoring them.

Valta has nothing to do with Coryphanus , she is a dwarf who still had her "Stone" sense ..she can "hear " the Stone etc...what happened is for unknown reason the Titan "bonded" with her by throwing a blast of lyrium to her face.

Why her and not the Shar Something Something? No Idea!

The Darkspawn avoid place where Titans are it seems. No idea why.

Renn is going to go "back to the Stone." Again no idea what it means but I imagine the "Stone" can feed off of dead dwarves.I imagine Renn is dead , but it's still an honor for a dwarf like him to go back to the Stone.

Don't ask me what the "Stone" is exactly or if the Titans are the "Stone " because no idea!

And I don't want to talk about snake people .I just don't want to imagine Snake People.

Anyway TLDR : I don't remember everything about this DLC , but I remember mostly you had way more new questions than answers!

I believe the Darkspawn were just incidental, in that Darkspawn are pretty much all over in the Deep Roads. That's why the Dwarves have never been able to reclaim their lost Thaigs, or utilize the Deep Roads as they once did. Darkspawn aren't seen much on the surface except during a Blight, but they never go away in the Deep Roads. They're always swarming everywhere below. However, I believe someone did mention that there was believed to have been an Old God prison of one of the since corrupted Archdemons near the location and it's possible many Darkspawn would linger around that.

I believe the Sha-Brytol were leeching off the Titan, basically. I think they were consuming the liquid Lyrium, possibly in some ritualistic manner, which allowed them to utilize abilities that most Dwarves can't, and that allowed them to stave off aging. I don't think Valta was inherently "more than a dwarf", either. I think her abilities were due to her being accepted by the Titan. My guess is that the Titan is linked to the Dwarves being cut off from the Fade and that being near to/accepted by the Titan can undo that, but it's not explained in The Descent. We don't know what happened to Renn. Theories are wide open on that. Rock wraith, lyrium ghost, Sha Brytol, something else? Who knows.

The snake men could be anything, but interesting mention. We'll see if it goes anywhere in the future.

Thank you

Any evidence on what weapons they were using? Seemed like a crossbow or even multi shot darts

In regards to the snake men they did mention it in other dlc and isnt there a picture in main game

The Scaled Ones are just krogan. There's a krogan head with a dwarven axe embedded in it right next to the last Chronicle of a Forgotten War.

In regards to the Sha-Brytol, it's hinted that there's probably a Thaig full of them. They've been cut off from the rest of the Dwarves that they eventually formed their own society (much like Kal-Sharok vs Orzammar dwarves)

In regards to Valta, she had always had a stong "stone" sense which might have been why the Titan connected to her. We learn from her that the Titan is seeking to reconnect with its "children" (dwarves) and that Sha-Brytol dwarves were wrong in believing it needs to be protected; the titan wants to be reconnected. As to why they weren't chosen, maybe it has to do with consuming Lyrium? Or maybe their stone-sense was just very weak?

As for the scaled ones ... quite probably another race; perhaps they these:

It atleast shows they were around since the peak of Elven empire ... knowing elves they might have subjugated them and the survivors fled deep into Dwarven Thaigs?
