After a few google searches and many experiments, I believe I am now the world's leading expert on the Brute Sync Kill...ha!
My courageous Krogan Warlord...errr...Warlords...set out on many gold solo quests, to get to the bottom of this question, "what indicates that a Brute is about to body slam you into oblivion?"
The conclusions are as follows:
A Brute will sync kill you after:
1) Its close melee attack where it swings its claw from left to right (player's perspective).
2) The small leap attack/ground slam melee it does close to a player. This is less common than the above precursor
A Brute will not sync kill you:
1) When you hit it first, before it has meleed you or another player.
2) If you melee it during or immediately following it's long range charge attack
3) When it roars/eyes change colour
The Brute sync kill-window primes for a long time after it's short range melee attack. If the Brute is not doing anything, that does not mean it is safe to attack it. In this way, the Brute is the opposite to the Banshee (sort of...when the banshee has stopped glowing blue and all that).
Wait for the Brute to take some action other than a close melee, before attacking it with your melee again (roar, long charge, when it starts walking slowly again)
Do you agree? What has your experience in close quarters combat with Brutes taught you? Add you comments and thoughts here
