Here's a picture of the Normandy lab in ME3. Everything looks pretty much normal, right?

 

 

Now let's look a bit closer:

 

 

So...a coffee mug. Inside a medical research device. A device that probably needs to be sterilized in order to to be used in research, much like any other medical apparel.

 

Who could've put it there? Dr Chakwas? I can't believe Mordin would purposefully - much less accidentally - leave the mug in such a place. Not a guy with so much respect for science like him. Could it be he already has Alzheimer? Do salarians even develop such a disease at old age?

 

It's the same kind of device where Mordin tests a counteragent for the seeker swarms in ME2, btw. He knows that piece of equipment well. Hence my befuddlement.

Ah... if only people knew what actually goes on inside research labs. Mordin is secretly running tests on Eve to determine the effects of caffeine on her "redundant nervous system..."  unless, of course, the coffee mug is there before Mordin comes aboard the ship... have to check that out now.

 

Scratch that... it's there... must be Chakwas staying up late... or the retrofit team (you just never know what construction workers leave behind.
