Hi guys,

the focus ability of RiftMage does 150% fire dmg per hit (for 55 hits = 8250dmg).

Does the damage increase with Superb Belt of the Inferno Pact + Heart of Rage?

The belt slightly doubles fire damage and heart of rage gives 50% so that would be

8250dmg*2*1,5 = 24750 dmg (450dmg per hit)

I think that would be quite powerful, right?

Last question: Does the belt+heart of rage affect energy-barrage when using a fire staff?

It does increase damage on firestorm.

As for powerful that is relative. It's not bad in trespasser with heart of fury and unlimited fast focus generation. But 90% of the time your rift mage or any mage spec for that matter is better off casting flame arrays and immolates. Each flame array fire mine should deal over 20k damage with the inferno pact on or more, if you build your mage for critical chance and damage. And it is not a focus abiliy which can be cast only rarely like firestorm. That being said I used inferno pact, firestorm and heart of fury in trespasser on my rift mage run as fire storm is cool in that if you have heal on hit those hits from the firestorm meteors will revive the rift mage as the spell continues to work even if you are knocked out. And in trespasser withtthe focus generation it is as good as Mark of the rift if you have the inferno pact belt.

That sounds nice. So does the belt increase the damage of fire staff attacks + energy barrage?

Yes.

Seems to be the most powerful way to play a mage :)

Once again (referring to your Qunari post), you are forgetting to consider the other side of the balance equation.

Superb Pact Belts are very difficult to use. Every time I've tried to use one, I've been one-shot killed by average level enemies. The debuff to your max health is significant, just like the description says.

For Firestorm, your calculations are only the max damage, which in practice never happens. Even for a big target, like a high dragon that you've locked in place with a Mark of the Rift, not every one of those 55 projectiles actually hits the target, the AoE is just too big. If the dragon is free to move, forget about it, you might get 10% of the projectiles to hit before it leaps or flies away.

Ok you're right about Firestorm, but i think heart of rage + belt is the best way to go.

With a decent tank with horn of valor (+guard upgrade) you won't be killed so fast.

And the damage is powerful:

flashfire 300% + ability Ring (30%) + belt (x2) + heart of rage (+50%) = 1170% dmg

immolate 400% + belt (x2) + heart of rage (+50%) = 1200% dmg + dot

firemine 1600% + belt (x2) + heart of rage (+50% = 4800% dmg :)
