Hi guys,

the qunari vitaar gives a damage boost (cretahl vitaar +24dmg).

In terms of damage look at this:

Mage: Best staves 77dmg -> with vitaar its a damage boost of 31%

Rogue: Best Bows 166dmg -> with vitaar 15% dmg boost

Rogue: Best Dagger 174dmg -> with vitaar 14% dmg boost

Warrior: Best OneHand 200dmg -> with vitaar 12% dmg boost

So stat-wise qunari is the BEST. Is there any reason to play a non-qunari race???

Qunari = Damage. Fitting for a race of savages. :P

Human will have more skill points than Qunari. Therefore, Humans are more diverse and flexible.

And more thought put into them, in general. I expect the next game will be different.

Maybe if I was playing a strategy or fighting game, only numbers and stats would matter. Secondly, DAI is pretty easy no matter you do.

Thanks for the answers.

Anyway i think it's unbalanced that a qunari mage does 30% more damage than any other race

Unfortunately no. Bioware has demonstrated, time and again, across multiple IPs, that they are primarily interested in making stories where the protagonist is typically Human with optional content for other races.

I agree that Qunari and Humans have a game mechanics edge over other races, but the edge is not as big as you are making it out to be, certainly not OP.

For one thing, you are cherry-picking the very best vitaar in the game, which most people aren't going to have until near the end of their playthrough. At least the last 25%.

For another thing, you're only showing one side of the balance equation. What about what Qunari give up? A Qunari gets less armor and no buffs attributed to helmets.

Examples:

Hat of the Inquisitor (Common): 12-13 armor, +4 Willpower

Fereldan Scout Hat (Rare): 21-22 armor, +10 Dexterity

Stone Stalker Mask (Unique): 50-51 armor, +9 Cunning, +9 Dexterity, +9% Magic Defense

Of course, Vitaar can also have buffs, so the balance comparison isn't all or nothing. They have to be taken on a case-by-case basis. For example, let's compare the Cretahl:

Cretahl Vitaar (Unique): +24 damage, +%9 Attack, +9% Crit Chance, +59 Max Health

You can pretty much ignore the +59 max health, since at the level in which you would get the Cretahl, that's probably less than a 10% buff, maybe even less than 5%. That leaves Attack and Crit, which are both very important and very valuable. But, notice that a rogue wearing the Stone Stalker Mask is going to get the same +9% Attack buff. They only get half the crit chance, but they get +9% crit damage buff on top.

Are they equal? Debatable, but even if we agree that they aren't equal, we don't agree that one is OP over the other. They aren't that far apart.

Vitaar damage improves the "base" weapon damage. That is insanely good for mages and DW rogues! It's like having tier 5 gear when everyone else has tier 4.

I think that won't be the case, because of the change in region. Be it a straight up Qunari or a Vashoth, the North has potential. Roleplay wise at least.

Some players like the OP seem more into numbers. I suppose they're already fine..They could be Nugs and it probably wouldn't matter, if the numbers were right.
