Would you like a new Reporter on the ship?

Maybe they could report on the new worlds or alien races and bring us in some $$$.

On the ark ship, sure. The population surely would want news of how settlement and exploration of Andromeda is going and I always loved my encounters with Emily Wong and PunchFaceReporter.
I don't want another embedded reporter, though. An Allers like character probably wouldn't make sense on the Tempest, even if she were done in a more elegant manner.

Would of been cool if they brought back Emily Wong. Too bad they killed her off on Twitter.

I'm not sure how a reporters role would fit in a new universe, but would you like to see a return as a nod to the ol' trilogy.

Sorry but no not so much.

Have to admit, i can see wy she was on the ship in ME3 but tbh she was really just a waste of time, you could barely even talk to her about anything, it sucked

I wouldn't mind it. Maybe one of our squadmates is a reporter who can fight if needed. Someone like Joe Galloway.

From the big leak:
"Photos you take from the far reaches of the galaxy can be used to decorate your starship or sold to certain characters."
It'd actually make a lot of sense if at least one of those characters was a journalist, looking for news on the frontier to bring back to the settlers aboard the Ark. They'll probably be based on the Ark - the Hyperion? - rather than the Tempest, though.
I'd quite like to see another take on the 'embedded reporter' concept - to this day, I wish they'd gone with Emily Wong (Damn you, Twitter!) or even Khalisah in ME3 - but I doubt it'll happen, sadly. I think it'd be relatively easy to justify having one aboard ship - you're a scout for the expedition, making first contact with new civilisations and discovering new worlds; there'd be plenty to report on - but I suspect BioWare would prefer to avoid any overt Mass Effect 3 comparisons, at least for this first game hence. Oh, and the Tempest - though it is hard to tell just from what we've seen so far - looks a bit smaller than the SR2, so there might not be room.

Since we are explorers first and foremost maybe one of our squadmates is a reporter who can fight if needed. Someone like Joseph Lee "Joe" Galloway.

Chloe Talbot, reporting...for duty!

Why would the press even be along on the voyage to Andromeda? It's an Ark, not a "grab everybody you can" (What I want to say is: The people who are taken along should IMHO be specially selected with a criteria list including: age (18-45 except for genius level scientists, leaders and other experts), intelligence, education (we need explorers, scientists, some farmers, miners, prospectors, soldiers, spies, engineers and doctors, but other educational tracks aren't really needed - we don't need lawyers at first for example or gender-studies-majors!), genetic profile (no genetic illnesses - not even as an unaffected carrier) and general health) and if you take this in mind: Nope, there won't be any reporters along...will there be a reporters and the press in time? Yes, but not at the start when survival is pretty much the most important thing (so setting up working colonies, getting production (food, equipment, spare parts etc.) going and setting up defenses, starting to build ships etc.)...I'd think that leadership would (and should!) be pretty open with their new colonists at first (so you don't need investigative journalism to stick it to the government if they make a misstake and try to cover it up)
greets LAX
ps: IMHO they should also take a lot of fertilized embryos along (I mean we produce those for science daily, so why wouldn't all the council-species (maybe except for the Asari because their pregnancies work differently - but then again: They are so long lived that it's not a problem!) and we know they can incubate those without a mother (Grunt and his tank are proof enough!), so a rapid population growth would be possible once we've set up shop!

I think we should have a male reporter on the ARK this time... for a Straight FemRyder or a gay MaleRyder to either KO or romance whenever the Tempest is in dock. People have been asking for romance options outside the crew and I think this could be a good opportunity. We've done the "screechy" female reporter bit already (Wong, Al-Jalani, and Allers). If they do the imbedded reporter thing, I think they should go out on missions and show some combat savvy (or lack of it - requiring Ryder to rescue them).

Not in this game, anyway. If we keep them for the sequel it would probably make sense.

Do people even understand what it means to try and set up a colony in a separate galaxy? Not knowing if your own civilization survived the reapers and given everything we knew about teh reapers having every reason to believe they didn't? And based on the fact this is a cryo ship you know regardless of outcomes in the Milky way EVERYONE you loved and knew back home is DEAD? (maybe not so much for Krogen and Asari but everyone else this is the case)
You are not going to a location where there is any infrastructure, this means the majority of the service orientated jobs are GONE and you are NOT going to start the vast vast majority of them up again until you have stable food supplies, light and heavy industry up and running. Reporters are a luxury that no colony can support until such time as you have infrastructure in place to support the colony over the long term and that takes years to establish.
They are not just taking citadel space and transplanting and entire civilization on Andromeda we are COLONIZING Andromeda. Seriously it is like people haven't studied any history on these forums.
