I agree with pretty much everything you said, although personally I found that the sweet spot for mages usually seemed to be closer to around 40% crit chance. That way I could make better use of most of the relatively few offense slots that they actually get on their staves for crit damage or %Att, but I was still critting often enough for Flash Point to work its magic (pun intended), and often enough to ultimately end up doing more damage than if I had more CC, and less CD.
Also, it's funny how many people, even though this game has been out for almost 2 years and there are multiple guides available on the subject, still seem to think that utility slots are essentially useless, at least compared to offense or defense slots. I mean especially on rogues, I honestly found myself opting for weapons with utility slots at times just to take advantage of how good the Dex stat actually is. I blame Bioware for this whole issue though. The in game explanations for the stat bonuses are so bad that you'd think you were playing a hardcore JRPG. lol
