So not only are they almost useless, they're drastically worse than equipping no ammo mod at all on certain enemies.

 

Biower really outdid themselves in balancing this game.

^This. They most probably don't even work when the Praetorian has its bubble up.

The Falcon is dope af, not OP but a decent weapon. 

 

its slow but well it does stagger the smaller enemies enemies, although there is striker so no point taking the falcon  ^_^

Explosive rounds imo should deal bonus damage against armor, explode instantly and have a decent AoE plus chance to stagger.

Lol that would be like equipping explosive rounds on the Falcon/Striker. You won't get a "double the splosssssssions" bonus.

It should be an obscene contraption, using space magic to combine harpoons with Bangalore torpedoes (without having to hand deliver it). Instead it's just pathetic.

sometimes when freezing an enemy with a power about the same time explosive rounds go off you get a cool slow motion explosion coming off the enemy.

 

not sure what that info is good for but it looks kinda cool lol

If you hit a normal enemy in the head when they have no shields or anything and have explosive ammo it should do the head splash thing :) would make them more useful for sure... also maybe add a bleeding damage like with the harpoon... because dude seriously shrapnel exists ;)

They were in ME1. If you gave your team the rare XXXIV guns with frictionless material and explosive rounds you could kill almost anything in a matter of seconds.

 

I found them more useful as an "oh crap" button on a Shepard who didn't have a lot of weapons training or CC ability (e.g., an engineer).  Just slap your highest damage-per-shot shotgun on with two Scram Rails or whatever they were called and HE ammo, and if something got too close to you, whip it out, fire it off point blank, then pack it back up to let it cool down.

Occasionally I equip them as a joke on a kit with an Acolyte. Technically they cause an extra stagger

I don't know what you're all complaining about. This IS the iconic 1337 ammo for master players. You just can't handle it.

They'd be better if they exploded with a little more spectacle, but without any sad attempt at a difference in game play. Maybe add colored streamers, I dunno.

Bullets that told Phantoms that they seem to be putting on weight lately could be amazing psy-ops. Maybe it would cause them not to bubble, out of fear that bubbling makes them look fat.

I don't know what everyone is complaining about.  It seems to me that we have finally found the true intended purpose of Explosive Ammo:  trolling PUGs.  No need to waste a cooldown or a precious, precious grenade just to bring up a Praetorian's bubble any more!

Even though I don't like explosive ammo.... this is how I feel if someone in my lobby doesn't at least equip level 1 of some ammo type........

I still can't figure out which ammo to equip on which weapon. I think it's so confusing. I just equip something randomly and if it's "wrong" or not good, the guys I'm playing with usually tells me to equip something else. I would like to be able to know for myself as well though, which ammo goes well with which gun and enemies etc. Being a noob is so darn hard lol.
