I still can't figure out which ammo to equip on which weapon. I think it's so confusing. I just equip something randomly and if it's "wrong" or not good, the guys I'm playing with usually tells me to equip something else. I would like to be able to know for myself as well though, which ammo goes well with which gun and enemies etc. Being a noob is so darn hard lol.

When in doubt, just use Cryo ammo.  It's equally good on all weapons.

Thank you, I will try and remember this :)

Here's what I use the various ammo types for, for whatever that's worth I guess (probably not a whole lot).

Cryo: rapidfire weapons, classes that can detonate cryo explosions (concussive shot, incinerate, warp, etc)

Disruptor: multi-shot pistols and sniper rifles (stun first, then headshot), classes with tech burst capabilities (overload, also other things that I can't be bothered to think of because overload is the most important)

Phasic: sniper rifles on characters built for sniping, and literally no other time (which means I have a huge stockpile of them for when I do feel like sniping)

AP: any hitscan weapon where I didn't put armor piercing in the mods because other things were more important or something

Drill: when I have more of these than AP on hand and want to save my AP for something else, or I just don't know what other ammo type to use and don't want to waste time thinking about it

Incendiary: powerful guns and the cheesiest of classes, and also anything with fire explosions

Explosive: I have no self-respect and don't even want to try, whatever, who cares

Warp: I almost never have these on hand because I use them immediately, but they're good for basically everything and especially useful for biotics

imo cryo ammo is pretty much useless on high-powered single-shot guns, for whatever that's worth. Those should be able to kill anything you might otherwise have frozen anyway. Unless you have TREMENDOUSLY bad aim and all your shots just end up hitting their feet or something, I guess. In which case maybe use a different gun, idk.

That DOES help a lot, thank you Yrael :) I was hoping for something like this, a "look up sheet".

I use Phasics on my Geth Hunter-like build (GI with Geth Plasma Shotgun). The charged GPS shot with Phasics from cloak packs a devastating shot on mooks.

I like incendiary on the GPS so my big lasery death gun can set things on fire. :D

I occasionally use Phasics on biotic explosion classes.  They strip shields very well and don't interfere with you explosions like Disruptor rounds do.  Yes, of course you can just use the Acolyte, but some people don't like it or don't want to use it all the time.  Phasics give you the freedom to use whatever weapon you want and still strip shields.  A Disciple with Phasic ammo will strip shields well enough to do the job, and it will often stagger the enemies too so they don't dodge your Warp.  Win/win!

I agree with your statement. I don't use the Acolyte because I think it kills the creativity and tackling the shield dilemma.

My Krogan soldier, for example, has the flexibility of being a melee character, while also having the full capacity of dealing with bosses comfortably. He runs a Claymore (Omni blade/High Velocity Barrel) using Phasic ammo and a Shotgun amp instead of a Strength Enhancer.

My Vorcha soldier also runs a Phasic Raider. I think it's pretty fun melting both the shields/barriers of bosses within seconds.

And just for creativity, my Phoenix Adepts runs Disruptor rounds on his Scorpion. Disruptor Scorpion + Lash= Fun
