Basically a small pet project of mine is the creation of a pen and paper roleplaying campaign set in the Mass Effect universe, the exact details of which I'm still trying to hammer out. It'll either be nonsense with Spectres, mercenaries operating around Omega and the Terminus Systems, or intrepid explorers and scientists. It'll take place shortly after ME1.
The purpose of this thread is basically to ask for some help and suggestions from those who may have done something similar before. My primary concern right now is which system to use. I've done this project twice before in brief test campaigns, the first time using the Cortex system and the second time using a slightly modified Storyteller System by White Wolf. Does anyone have any recommendations of their own, or better still know of an (un)official Mass Effect roleplaying game I could look into instead?
Of course with the system also comes the question of how to work in races. Some species, such as krogan most famously, are very overpowered, while others may be harder to play as (such as hanar). Choosing a system will settle some of these issues, but the question of balance will be a prominent one.
