In my DAO playthrough I let Anora be queen. Because obviously Alistair didn't dig her nastyness! I just couldn't pimp out my best man like that, sorry. In Keep it set it so he stays warden. It made sense then to see him in my DA:I playthrough as a ''rogue'' warden.

However! When I was playing DA2 prior to even getting DAO (yes I did it that way, unfortunately), Alistair as a king comes to see Hawke for any reason I can't remember right now. Because I didn't knew any better back then, that has settled down as canon canon Alistair destiny. But anyhow, that made me wonder if I had chose Alistair not to stay as warden in Keep, who then is the Hawkes ''friend in the wardens'' that I get to see during that mission? Once I am at it, why not learn what is the outcome of said scenario if Allistair: a)dies in DAO b)gets executed c)is king d)becomes a drunk.

I just realised if in my current reality Alistair is warden, and Hawke and him in canon got to meet because of hime being, well, king, how is it possible that Hawke knows ''a Warden named Alistair? Just seems to convenient all of the sudden! :D

Alistair was king in your DA2 playthrough because you played DA2 first and did not import a save from DAO where he remained a Warden. If Alistair is not a warden then Stroud or Loghain (if he is alive) will be Hawke's warden friend. Dead Alistair stays dead, King Alistair has a small cameo when recruiting the mages, drunk Alistair goes back to the wardens.

If you kept the DA2 canon where Alistair is King then you would probably have met Stroud as the rogue warden (the fabulous mustached man you met during the Arishoks temper tantrum in DA2.)

In the scenarios you mention:

Spoiler

Your "reality" can't happen in game. But if Alistair had stayed a warden (and survived his encounter with Archie) Hawke would have met him in Kirkwall during the Arishoks temper tantrum.

Yes I stated I know why it was the way it played out. And if so, I'm happy I made the right decision. I got to ask about what happens with my warden, and go for 1 more ride besides him etc.

Yet again it seems I did it right to let Alistair stay with wardens. Yay my DA:I playthrough.
