That's such a cop out. The devs hyped up the game non-stop for over a year and lied about the content of the game. I'm so sick and tired of people putting the blame on players. The players didn't make BioWare put out a bad product or lie about said product. If BioWare didn't want hype they shouldn't have talked about the "over 40 endings" and all that other crap that turned out to be lies.

I've seen ONE lie which was not classified as puffery or subjective which was that we could choose pro-cerberus and chouses matter. That promise was made before the script leak. The ending rewrite due to it could have made the pro-cerberus storyline or our ending choices.

Why I attribute the script leak to hype. Simple. If those associated to the leak were not overtaken by hype the leak A) wouldn't have happened or B) wouldn't have been as viral.

The hype train also only decelerates through A) destination reached or B) lack of destination in sight. Otherwise it continues to accelerate. Especially in context of this forum. You see how far people have gone with ever bit of intel. (Asari with eyebrows ermahgerd asari have been redesigned! *vomits verbal diharrea on keyboard*) the same priciple came with every dev twitter post. What was intended as puffery was taken to such extremes of "THIS WILL BE THE BEST GAME EVAR!" That's not the devs fault but the fault of those misinterpreting it.

Sorry dude you're the one coping out

Then you haven't paid attention. "Over 40 different endings." "It's not a choice between A, B and C."

Well first of all, the ending wasn't rewritten. That's a myth. Second, how could an ending rewrite remove content from early in the game?

That's just gibberish. It doesn't mean anything.

Again, more nonsense. How is it the fault of the fans for doing exactly what BioWare intended them to do? The entire point of making such posts on Twitter and releasing trailers is to build hype. Stop being willfully obtuse.

I don't think you know what that means.

Let's not rehash the whole ME3 debate.

One of the reasons cinematic trailers are discredited is that they didn't represent the game.

E.g. 'Take Earth Back'

The ground and air assault shown were not matched by the city crawl through rubble and car parks.

The MEA trailers so far appear to be in-game engine and are holding back from implying much plot.

To be fair, their are implying not much of anything.

However, you can be sure that by the time Andromeda is released, sentences like "they spoiled the whole game already" will be common.

No dev ever said that.

We got info but not a lot due to unknown circumstances, that hopefully has nothing to do with BioWare Marketing being a bunch of teasing bastards. Because Uncle! Uncle! you could release more, now.

Regards to the forum itself, i haven't lost any major limbs. <_< Permanently. I mean, cyborg legs are da bomb, yo.

Not at all.  There are plenty of people who feel the same.

No. I'm fairly tepid on the ending, but only the EC version (strongly dislike the original), but overall I love the game, and play it more than ME2 and ME1.

I don't think you know what that means.

If you actually paid attention the game has more than 3 endings. If you take account of the different ems based ending plus the endgame state of quarian/Geth survival, krogan cure, Rachid survival and more there are over 40 different end dates. Only a narrow minded simpleton would only consider the different ending cinematics as the only variables in the endings.

The original ending was based on dark matter decaying the galaxy not reapers going stupid to "preserve" life.

And by your logic on hype bud light is responsible for those killed in dui accidents. Yes they built hype. But those that became overhyped have only themselves to blame for their over expectations.

That was never put into development. Go look up the original leak. The ending wasn't changed.

Budweiser never said "Our product is so good you'll be able to drive drunk." That's completely stupid.
Different "variations" in endstate do not count as endings, Especially not when the player never sees them.
BioWare built the hype all by themselves, because that's the point of marketing.
BioWare lied about the ending.
Hell, BioWare lied about the Extended Cut, saying it doesn't change the ending at all and only adds "clarity."

You love being cucked by BioWare, huh?

I don't mind what it is. Dark matter decaying the galaxy? Doesn't sound any better. I never thought I'd say this but maybe killroy is right. This is getting out of hand man. He may be hard to take sometimes but he has a point.

Be careful, OP. "Getting information" could be translated as "Bioware Dev says: MEA is a game!"

Dark energy isn't any better. People who say it's better are deluded. It's even more illogical and was too stupid to be used, which is why it wasn't used. The ending we got was terrible, but let's not kid ourselves. Dark energy was all they had after 2 games and 6 years of development so it's not like giving the writing staff an extra 6 months or even a year would have made the ending better. They wrote themselves into a corner and didn't have the chops to write themselves out of it. Best to move the **** on. Like to a new galaxy, for instance.

True.
