There's also mention of Lightning Bugs (Fireflyies) They use bioluminescence in the same way. So who's to say this creature isn't from a planet that has 30 days and 30 nights? I'd have to find a way to get prey during dark periods.

Any planet with a day-night cycle that long would be scorching during the bright periods and freezing during the dark periods. Anything that prevents the evolution of plant life prevents the evolution of animal life. At best you might find extremophile bacteria.

Animals from a variety of habitats have the ability to glow. It is especially common in invertebrates such as the cave dwelling glowwrorms, Shiny Snails (Quantula striata), Millipede (Motyxia), Railroad worms, and Click Beetles (Pyrophorus) but also in fungus (Mycena lucentipes) and aquatic animals. If a fictional creature has a nocturnal lifestyle or lives in a dark environment such as a cave, underground, or in the deep sea it is not unreasonable that it would develop bioluminescence.

Any glowing neon predators in the game will make complete prey of Humans. We'll be drawn to them like late teens to raves.

I'm pretty sure any creature with glowing eyes would actually be blind, eyes have evolved to capture light it's pretty hard to capture light when there is interference light, people who try to star gaze from a lit city can attest.

So if some alien with glowing eyes is taking pot shots at me with a sniper rifle i wont believe it, hence it will effect my experience. I don't believe the game needs to be full blown realistic, but i do believe if they can create a world, alien or technology that we have never seen before but believe it's real then that's where the magic happens. If the game can draw on logic and realism to make the unreal seem believable, it adds weight to the story and world.

Am i against bio-luminescence creatures or bright colors? no not all. It's how they implement them into the game, in Dragon age Inquisition it was so over the top it was asking to much for initial immersion and by the time you entered the fade it seemed normal compared to half the environments in the game.

So i hope they use lighting and color in feasible ways, like using the type of star color (red giants, yellow dwarfs and blue giants etc) of a certain solar system to interact with the planet environments/atmospheres/inhabitants to create beautiful color hues opposed to forcing bright colors into environments, let it seem to happen naturally like our very own sunset.

Now back to glowing eyes, there are exceptions, Geth, synthetics and those metal poles at intersections are all alright.

Cats' eyes glow in the dark, and that doesn't stop them from being able to see. A lot of animals' eyes glow in the dark and doesn't blind them, and they have night vision. They can see in the dark even with their glowy eyes.

Also you're forgetting that these glowing aliens' eyes might have evolved in some way that stops the glow from interfering with light. They are Aliens after all. From another Planet. They've evolved completely differently from us and ours.

That's very cool i didn't know you could put a cat in a room and turn off the light to have it's eyes glow at you?

Yeh totally.

Well okay, so you might have to shine a light in their eyes and I guess that completely defeats the purpose of that argument of mine BUT, for an alien, glowing eyes doesn't have to follow Earth's evolutionary rules. As long as BioWare can make it make sense, at least a little bit

Again, go watch a nature documentary. You'd be amazed by all the things creatures can do. Now granted, yes, lock a cat in a black room its eyes don't glow, but a cat's eyes aren't bioluminescent, though. Glowing eyes wouldn't effect sniping either, as there's some snipers (irl mind you) who wear night vision goggles, some have green glowing lensed, yet still are able to snipe. Seriously, do some reach before you make such claims.

What I have found to be more curious than glowing stuff is that in Mass Effect we can hear sounds in space.

Spoiler

But it's a game, so it doesn't bother me. ;)
