You definitely do not get the "adventuring days are over" if you choose the aggressive disband option.   There you actually depart with the words "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to save the world, again."   There is absolutely no suggestion there that you are retiring.

I think the "adventuring days are over" is something that follows either a sad or thumbs up option, particularly on the peace keeping option.

Also if you agree to become a Red Jenny, it specifically says that both you and Sera have given the impression you are supposedly retired but you are anything but.   That screen also shows you with the crossbow substitute for your arm.     The Inquisitor is also said to sneak into Minrathous to aid his Amatus if you are in a Dorian romance, which also implies that they are perfectly capable of continuing the struggle against Solas.

This is why it seems odd that they think this conclusively tied up the Inquisitor's story (PW & another giving a talk about Trespasser).

Incidentally he didn't need you the thwart the Qunari plan.   I assume he could have done that himself if he really wanted to.   The Qunari "offended him", so if the Inquisition had failed to stop the Qunari, I think he would have ensured his agents across Thedas did.    He certainly had more than one agent working for him in the Inquisition.   Nor did the Qunari threaten his plans.    He said there was "no benefit" in allowing the Qunari to succeed, so since they "offended him" he took action.    However, had he left them alone, you can equally say there was no "harm" to his plans in allowing it.    His decision was purely based on how he viewed the Qunari, not how it affected his own personal plans.
