I pre-ordered Dragon Age well over a few weeks ago on Steam. Everything was good.

Then when the files unlocked today i typed in my Deluxe Edition and Pre-order codes and was happy to see that all the content I was promised showed as unlocked on the "Registered game promotions" page. It even worked when I then transfered over the character from the character creator.

So I saved my game and shut it off because i had to go to the shops real quick. And when I came back and tried to load my previously saved game, a message saying that the samegame required an account owning the following DLC.

Memory Band
Collector's Edition
Wardens Keep
The Stone Prisoner.

What gives? How come these DLC are suddenly not working? :(

need to make sure you logged back in on the title screen. when I started te game the second time it had my email but the button said "logged out".

If you log back in before trying to load the save game you should have them again.

I have the DLC from pre-ordering the standard version, and when I click 'Resume' it gives me the message saying I have premium content, need to log in as that account etc, even though I am. Is that the problem? The way I got around it is to just go into 'Load Game' and load the save file, that seems to not disagree with me. Hopefully that works for you, but I have a 99% feeling of surety you've tried that already, lol.

I'm having the same problem, unable to resume or load a saved due to having DLC, but I also have some custom content (projects) that I have installed. I played this morning shut down for a few hours than restarted and nothing.

I just found out on some other forums that problem is becouse if the stopped "Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater" service. If you go to START - RUN - type 'services.msc', hit enter, and in the services window change the status of this service to Automatic or Manual and start it. MY won't start for some reason. Maybe need to reinstall the game *shrug*. But yeah, If you've used to be able to play and had no problem with DLCs before then this service is most likely stopped if you have problem with DLCs now.

This starts to really ****** ME OFF! I've fixed this issue by reinstalling this damn service and message went away, now I bought Return to Ostagar, and I get the damn message no matter what on this DLC. All other DLCs are working now. I paid 5$, I've seen it going through download and install this DLC, now after game is restarted I see that "Return to Ostagar" is not accessible and I see it in Available content again. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON EA. I am SICK AND TIRED OF THIS BS!

If its just Return to Ostagar, and all your other DLC shows as authorized, try regenerating your profile.dap file, which is where the authorization tokens are stored.  Rename My Documents\\Bioware\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\profile.dap to something else, achievements are also stored in this file, so don't delete it until you're sure everything is working.  It will be regenerated next time you start the game and log in, with the service correctly started.  It will resave all the authorization tokens, and redownload achievements that have been uploaded to the social site.

This worked for me.  Just ran into the problem today, where my DLC was selected and downloaded, but Warden's Keep said it was "unauthorized" after it was installed.  This fixed the problem.  Thank you!

Just to let others know, the above solution worked perfectly for me.
I'm the  "tidy " kinda person and every now and then check the Boot settings for unwanted programs. I found the Dragon Age entry and disabled the Autoboot. That broke the DLC. Restoring the service fixed the DLC right away.

Sorry you're having issues.  First, you can check this page... you should see all of the DLC you're authorized to have on it:

http://social.biowar...ntitlements.php

If it's NOT there, you probably entered the registration code for the game itself, but not the second one for the DLC.

If it is on that page, then one of a couple of things could have happened:

1) You had a previous version of DAO installed at one time on the machine, and you either did not uninstall it first, or when you did, the registry keys didn't clear. The solution is to do a full uninstall, reboot,  and reinstall of the Ultimate Edition.

2) Everything installed correctly but the daupdaterservice.exe background program isn't running.  There are ways to fix this without reinstalling... see this link:

Yup.

Awakening -- Problems with the Ultimate Edition
Here’s
the deal...  sadly, Awakening seems to be the number one issue with
folks using the Ultimate Edition.  Specifically, under many
circumstances, Awakening seems to disappear. This is usually because of a
problem in installation (you’ve installed but already had another copy
of Origins on the machine) or due to some issue with a file or the
registry on your machine. Note: in many cases, uninstalling and
reinstalling UE is the best option.

You have installed Ultimate Edition and you DID NOT have a previous installation of Origins, and Awakening is STILL missing:
http://social.biowar...8/index/6216051

We've
discovered that bad things can happen if you own a previous version of
Dragon Age and install Ultimate Edition without first uninstalling the
original program.  Bad things like not being able to launch Awakening or
authorize DLC.  Fixes are possible:
http://social.biowar...8/index/5755406
http://social.biowar...8/index/5835211

UE Installed but Awakening expansion pack is missing in action:
http://social.biowar...8/index/6020257

Installing UE without installing previous game + mods = headache:
