Unless our cunning strategy to reach Andromeda is to wait for it to come to us.
Nothing cunning about that. The chances of the descendants of humans being around 4 billion years from now is...well, astronomically small.

Galactic CollisionThe Milky Way did not form alone. It is the second largest galaxy in the small cluster of galaxies to which it belongs. It was discovered in 1994 that there is a small galaxy which is in the process of colliding with the Milky Way. It is called the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy (SagDEG). It lies on the other side of the Milky Way from the Earth, so it is completely hidden from view by the clouds of gas and dust in the plane of the Galaxy.

Wouldn't worry about Andromeda... The Milky Way has been "in a collision" with another galaxy for quite some time already.
Here's another page on the SagDEG galaxy:

I find being on a planet in space terrifying enough, let's not dwell on our inevitable doom right now hey? Not particularly entertaining.
Pffttt....I'm sorry, the last few months have sucked so hard I'm just in desperate need of unicorns and rainbows right now. ![]()

considering all the stuff going on in the world, i don't think you're alone on that. :c *pat pat*
The Puppeteers would pull up lock stock and barrel and move to a new galaxy as soon as they found out about this 'impending' collision.
There we go. Pretty much sums it up. It's ok, I'm in love with Echo because I'm Narcissus
Yes, indeed you are.
Andromeda and the Milkyway are just playing a game of chicken. One of them will swerve out of the way eventually.

Genetics have nothing to do with this...

Considering that this collision is supposed to take place in 4 to 5 billion years in the future, I seriously doubt it.
Wrong again. Genetics are everything.
No. I could be a dude for you all know, so why flirt with a total stranger than?
Being the supreme gentlemen that I am, I'll remain on topic. OP if this scenario occurs and we are there to worry about it, granted we don't have poor leaders that bring us to the Stone Age through war, our technology level would make the event trivial or possibly even prevent it. Nobody knows what the future holds.
^Negative buddy. The purpose of this thread is to discuss the collision of galaxies. The MEA reference was thrown in so that it could be posted in this section.
Nope, original post down below.
So watching Cosmos with Neil Degrasse Tyson I was reminded of the expected collision between the MW and Andromeda. While I'm aware that this event is expected in the far off future even for when ME:A is expected to take place do you think that ME:A or a future instalment may touch upon this event?
