Why only play a single player game when you are also paying for the multiplayer? It just boggles me.

 

I'm not very social. That's my reason. I played enough to upgrade some guys to N7, but left.

Didn't say I didn't give it a chance. I played my fair share of the multiplayer. I gave it a chance.

Not even close.

 

The only time I've ever found MP to be superior to SP in anything is in the Saints Row series. And that's because they did it right.

I wouldn't say that about any game.  Multiplayer was an experiment, bolstered by the internet and MMO's.  While we have seen certain fads, none have really stayed true to what they were.  There can, however, be certain groups that really really like certain multiplayer aspects of certain games.  CoD, BF, etc. 

 

But I suppose the one game that I'm forgetting about would be DOTA2.  But I've never in my life understood how someone could love something so toxic and full of vitriol as that.   So, I've never kept track.

I'm curious. Why play a roleplaying game, if you're not going to play the roleplaying side of it?

Because the game play has been improving through the series, while the storytelling has tanked.

I used to be all about the story, until two things happened: 1. Bioware started tailoring their stories to the tastes of people on BSN, and 2. They stopped writing endings.

When I found my copy of ME3 in the bargain bin, I didn't expect to play the multiplayer at all. I was surprised to find it so engaging. I loved the improved gameplay in the SP game as well, but I kept tripping over Bioware as the "story" unfolded. "There's no time for aerial bombardment" seemed so sensible and comforting next to the writing in the SP game.

- People personally affronted that Bioware didn't follow their specific suggestions about making the game "less childish" by impaling women.

- 10,000+ messages forumites complaining about thermal clips

- "The space videogame girlfriend you gave me is not hot enough for me"

- "EAware is so bad, it was nice while it lasted, CDPR are the masters now, see you guys at the CDPR forums" (continues to post on the Bioware forum everyday)
