Oh for biscuits and maple syrup, some people just hit people for sexual pleasure, it's perfectly normal and acceptable when it's consensual.

The reality is we live in this totally crazy world, where people are lying like all the time, about everything

Market capitalism and other things are the most profound form of sadism and masochism, everyone I've met (ahem and possibly experienced) of the whipping kind are more gentle than most any other people you ever meet. I don't think I ever really knew what kindness was (for real) until I met a fairly "sadistic" personality, and then I realized that most people's artificial form of kindness was more sadistic than I could of ever imagined.

That said, issues like whether being a "dame" is insulting can arise even within people who are con-sensually engaging in such acts and in the penunmbra around thereabouts. Not everyone likes the same things, and even slight things can tick off one person and be perfectly ok for another...

Now that people are sexually liberated we are learning that lots of things many people, and at various times in the world, previously thought to be "bad," ranging from pornography, LGBT, .anal sex, oral sex, watching other people doing things, breaking up the concept of marriage or 1 to 1 relationships only, BDSM, kink, video games, all of it's fine when those things are consensual, and to people's shock, those are things are indeed (not universally, often, and totally capable of being) consensual.

Some women want like a pure slave like relationship, a master patriarchical figure who does everything for them and they are basically just in a fairly extreme relationship in a sense... but it still can be a totally consensual arrangement (unlike, I don't know, Ancient Egypt)

Some women might view even the tiniest bit of sexual dominance towards them as degrading and inexcusable and want a man that is a highly independence oriented kind of figured.

And then there's like everyone else... which is most people... where it's somewhere in between the two points.

So rather than dickering over this lets just have casual conversations about kink eh,eh?

The only thing I think needs to happen is for representations in media to approach that as observed, possibly experienced on a day to day life all over the globe by people who are just too shy to share (and even that's not true anymore) what they really like.

For instance, I've seen some people who are pretty heavily into S&M and they are really kind of "in the zone" it's not this kind of off the cuff thing you see with IB so IMHO I would think if they represented kind of more like it actually is (people sometimes hit... pretty hard... again... nothing illegal, it's consensual, but S&M really does mean that a lot of the time)

And lets not forget the burgeoning demographic of women who are dominant minded and want men who are more willing to play a more submissive role, the increase in this factor has also been a thing that's pretty amazing to watch, people everywhere are learning what it is like to be themselves without having to guess.

And lets not forget that those same women can be liberated in a sense of expressing that, but also limited in that now they can be subject to the same kind of "sins" (just like Patriarchy, etc). In those instances I've observed a kind of "honeymoon" of oh wow you are that way! Followed by... well now our lives can kind of also suck like everyone else... phenomenon.

And finally don't forget that well... yeah lots of women wouldn't even be slightly offended by "dame" might even find it attractive and interesting. A lot of women angle right for a submissive role and are totally fulfilled by it.

The issues are multifaceted and complex, no one should feel restrained from expressing their opinion, especially about being restrained.

I smoke e-cigs.

Makes me wonder why they still smoke regular cigs in ME.

In ME we've seen that the tech exists to clone organs or limbs relatively easy. Even if they've not managed to cure cancer by 2183, people may view it as less reason to give up their vices, because you can replace any lungs or livers you've damaged through excessive consumption of liquor and tobacco.

The Illusive Man might smoke regular cigs because he has the money and resources to make any health concerns moot. Perhaps having outfitted himself with the same kind of implants that allow Shepard to drink ryncol and survive what would normally be fatal poison?

Salarians and Elcor we see smoking might not suffer the effects of tobacco or aren't concerned with them. Salarian's lifespans may be too short for long-term issues to even arise and with Elcor, they probably have evolved a larger lung capacity due to both their size and being native to a high-gravity world, so on low-gravity habitats like the Citadel, they don't have to worry about smoking getting them out of breath?

IIRC, in the Retribution book it mentions that lung cancer isn't a concern anymore RE: TIM and his smoking. Not 100% sure though, as I don't have the book anymore.

You are rambling.

There is no connection between people's tendency to lie in order to make themselves more successful or look better, kindness or the lack of, and BDSM.

The idea that people who practice BDSM are somehow kinder or more truthful is simply laughable. BDSM is one sexual fetish among many, that's it.

Depends ;)

Apparently sexual masochism and sexual sadism are disorders... I disagree but uh apparently thats true... pain is kinda optional for bdsm though so it probably depends how much youre into the s and m part even though as I said I disagree with them being disorders ;)

That doesn't even make sense.

If you are going to troll people at least put some legible effort into it.

To me, you sound like a scared little boy who never left the schoolyard.

To us, you were the kid who burned insects and tried to look up girls skirts.

To us all, you come across as a whiney little b#tch hiding behind a monitor.

You have no idea how accurate that assessment of Seboist is. :')

The only time I'd want to see this if it was played off with humor in mind. Like in a found homemade sex vid made by Tali and Garrus. And we just hear the audio and Shep's reaction. From how they worded it when we walked in on them. Seems like Tali is into that freaky stuff judging by Garrus's comment of "You're so mean...and I'm okay with that." Apparently Garrus is a bottom and Tali is a top....who knew....

Didn't surprise me at all. Garrus sounds exactly like the type of shy, introverted beta male who makes up sexual escapades to fit in with the guys. We see it with all three of Tali, Femshep and the female turian in Citadel he couldn't close the deal with (unless encouraged). Dude was probably a virgin.

Tali's relatively forward by comparison (albiet intially awkward in Broshep's case for whatever reason, though it doesn't last) and very motivated toward goal oriented behavior. She jumps people's bones when she wants them. Resultingly, I loved all the "die for our ship" metagaming that butthurt Talimancers engaged in when they found out their precious waifu actually had an independent personality and wasn't their OTP. Biower needs to do more of this with popular romanceable characters (rather than throwaways like Jacob).

...there were people butthurt over Tali getting with Garrus on playthroughs where neither was romanced?

The internet never ceases to amaze me. And I say this as someone who romanced Tali on two separate playthroughs.

oh god yes. I've heard bunches of Talimancers saying they kill Garrus every playthrough specifically because of the existence of Talibrations.

In fairness, I've also heard Garrus fangirls who deliberately do likewiese. In fact, I specifically remember a section of them who would refer to Tali as "X" (my guess is a sort of "she who must not be mentioned" kind of thing) when referring to her in Garrus's fan threads.

Not to mention the various examples of murder/cucking based fan "art" that you'd see in these places with these characters.

People are insane, and the internet is a scary place.

NO, thank you very much. Would appreciate not having this kind of relationship in a game again. I don't mind having little hints at having the characters joke about trying it, but I have no desire to see another relationship revolve around it.

Funny...Only in their twisted minds only they can romance. How dare the characters they didn't choose to romance have a life outside of their fantasies.

From whence comes your aversion?

Like I said, I don't mind having hints that the player and their romance try it sometimes, and if people roll that way IRL, more power to you, enjoy yourself. But I felt like the way they handled that kind of romance in DA:I was they threw it in your face constantly that it was a BDSM relationship, even if they didn't go into any detail other that Bull was in charge and he tied the Quizzie up in creative ways.

Don't get me wrong- I LOVED Bull as a romance. He was sweet and kind and considerate and when he finally came around to saying that he loved you, he was openly proud of it- basically his answer to questions about the relationship went like this: "This is my Kadan, and my Kadan is the greatest thing ever and I love her more than anything else in this whole damn world,  because she is my Kadan."

But I disliked how even with all of that, the game would constantly throw BDSM at you in pretty much every conversation with him, reminding you that he was in charge in the relationship. Even in party banters when people commented on it, it felt more like they were snickering at the Quizzie's weird fetish than good natured ribbing. I really wish one of them had just said "Look, if you're happy, you don't have to be ashamed about it." Even Varric joked about it while he was trying to reassure the Quizzie, so it didn't come off as the writers probably meant it to to me. I didn't feel that it was presented in such a way as to make it completely mesh.

Anyway, my point is that I don't want another romance like that, where your love for another character is tied directly to (and at times felt like it was defined by) your sex life. That's my main reason for it. I think it would be better if they made it a flirt option where they said things like "Hey, you wanna try me being in charge for the night?" and have the other person reply "Only if you bring cuffs." Stuff like that rather than "I'm in charge all the time, take it or leave it."
