There could be a uhhh slider for this?????
in the character creation part you could customize your characters hair face makeup history and whether theyre submissive/dominant which would change romance cutscenes a little ![]()
Innnnnn this theyd just have to be careful that it doesnt move away from being mass effect and closer to being bondage simulator 2017... which I would totally play, but mass effect is different ![]()

I legit laughed. This is what I love about message boards. What about those of us who identify as a meme?
I sexually Identify as a meme. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of being uploaded onto the imgur website and linked into the reddit threads. People say to me that a person being a meme is Impossible and I'm a moron but I don't care, I'm beautiful. I'm having a computer scientist put my brain into my computer like johnny depp in transendence, equipping me with the dankest of pictures from the internet. From now on I want you guys to call me "Sir Danks-a-lot" and respect my right to meme from above and meme needlessly. If you can't accept me you're a memephobe and need to check your internet privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.

See like arguably that can apply to all sex scenes, gay/lesbian romance, just the concept of romance generally. Pretty much all questions of sex and sexuality are kind of "what the couples do in their free time" technically.
I never understood why people invest resources into sex scenes. But I'm fighting a losing battle here.
Let's say we have 100 resources. 10 go to sex scenes. Like prohibition; asking To stop will never work. So instead of asking that, I'm
Asking it stays still I'm asking that we don't lower the drinking age.
Instead of admitting I want 0 resources to go to sex scenes, I just say "how about less than 15?"
Haha, I think that explanation would help? I'm also a bit tired. Sorry it is makes no sense!
And thanks btw-asexual does count as neither straight nor bi-but how would that fit into a romance scene?

I really love romance, but I prefer the sex scenes are implicit and no explicit (given the fact 1) it's hard to animate a sex scene reallistically 2) I prefer leave that to imagination, so there is no canon kinky

That's a strong reason too.
I also love romances, by the way. I feel like it adds something to have someone on the line that the hero cares about deeply, deeper than their best friend, second in command, wingman, and so on.
I just don't think that a romance needs to be solidified in sex (and I also think a strong bro/sis?mance works, or a strong family element. For some stories it's even preferable to have strong relationships that don't need to be sexual in nature.)

Thanks for the link. That was an informative read on the writer's process.
To the matter of Traynor and romances in ME:A : It's not that it's difficult to accept a love interest for female Shep wouldn't be available to male Shep. It's the sexual behavior of a claimed non-option toward male Shep which seem in conflict with the claim.
In ME:A it would be interesting if a character could discover aspects they didn't know about their sexuality through application of sexual force in a consensual way. Something that may be possible in the Andromeda narrative.

To a limited degree sure but at some point it appears as a denial of desires that could be challenged.
For those having trouble understanding this statement:
Even taking a promiscuous Shepard's history out of the equation male Shepard had still shown an open sexual interest in Traynor. She did promptly shoot it down with a quip about gossip. Fair enough. Then in the Citadel DLC encounter she finds an excuse to get undressed in his bedroom and re-engages on a sexual level in a more aggressive and not so subtle manner. This seems contrary to her words and an invitation. How that scenario could be further explored with different genders and orientations is how it pertains to romances in ME:A.

That's not true. Often, an RPG will create a kind of existential issue: the antagonist wants to kill you even if you share their goals, e.g., Malak or Irenicus. Or the goal of the antagonist is obviously crazy and/or evil. A relatable pragmatic antagonist in your organization, that's hard to oppose. It's kind of the ME1 Council problem - the game tries to make you dislike them for obstructing you, but Shepard behaves like a total unhinged loon.
Yes RPGs will often create an existential issue, that's an answer to question you've raised - why the player can't join with them. Other RPGs answer it differently.
I agree it's a concern that needs to be addressed, but it is always an a concern that needs to be addressed, and existential issues aren't an answer I always want to see given, particularly if the price is similar kinds of villain all the time.

We're on the same page as to the kind of villain we want. Of course we could just rely on the distinction between a villain and antagonist - the villain needn't actually be opposed to you or your goals to be a villain in the literary sense.
I'm curious as to these other ways - nothing comes to mind as having been done satisfactorily.

Not successfully, given that it was confirmed that Samantha has no attraction to men.

Aside from the fact that it was written the same way for all non-romancing Shepards and that this is reading far more into it than actually exists, adding any sort of ambiguity to starting a romance will make people complain endlessly, which is why Dragon Age has been clearly labeling all of its flirt options for two games.
