Yeah I bought Jade Empire through steam some time ago, I believe it was on sale or something and I honest forget why I didn't buy it on origin at all. However does this mean I can never get credit for having Jade Empire like I do all the other BioWare games that show logo's under my name?

You should just be able to enter the key for the game into Origin and have it available there.

The link to your key should be on the right side of the Steam interface when you select the game.

Of course I don't have the game on Steam so can't say for sure that it'll work but that is the method I used for the first Mass Effect.

 I dont see anything that looks like a product key. I remember some game in the past did allow me to see it but now nothing.

nope. in fact i don't ever think it asked to validate my copy.

um cant post that screenshot... could it be that Jade Empire is just licensed as a valve game and not a third party one? that's the only explanation i can think of?

I would attempt to search online for a way to retrieve your cd key from the Windows Registry.  I will attempt to search when I get the time to do so.

1) Right click the game in your Steam "Library".

2) Select "View CD Key".

That's the weird thing, it doesn't even exist.

I never thought to really since i bought it on steam, I figure it was a problem on their end. Do you think they'd even help?

I've yet to see any Registry entries on Jade Empire.  My copy in Origin will probably have a product key associated with it.  I think you should dig up your Windows Registry for BioWare and Jade empire and see if anything surfaces.

Your Steam copy of Jade Empire is not associated with any CD Key. There's nothing in the registry either.

 

I believe I used the free copy of JE I received through Origin to get a key to register on this site. Well, pointless now anyway.

I've always wished I could have registered my Xbox "Jade Empire Limited Edition". It annoyed me anew when the new JE logos started appearing in recent months.

Alas, no more attempting to profile and prejudge my fellow forumites by their "games owned" badges.
